Tiesto has played Creamfields for a few years now. I was just thinking to myself whether he might play Glastonbury 2010 to promote his new album. After all, it is the best festival of the UK! Is anybody else routing for him? Love his older stuff and some of his new stuff. It would be so cool to see him on the Other stage. It would get too packed in one of the dance tents I'm sure

imo the only BIG dance dj were likely to get is Fatboy Slim, there will be some biggish names in the dance village but dont expect any arena fillers

but big live dance acts theres a chance of, chems, faithless, daft punk etc, things more user friendly than a dutch trance legend :P

if you want to see tiesto he'll do his usual yearly outing the uk, GG, creamfields or 02 arena :P

I can't see a DJ being booked for one of Glasto's main stages, not when there are dance tents, and so many live acts available to perform.

I don't really bother with seeing DJs at Glasto. I've gotten cynical and no longer worship the cult of DJ (after all I'm a DJ, I just play other people's records). It is rare to see a DJ that stands out above the crowd, the last time I saw that was the Rhythm Rebels in Nottingham earlier this year.

To be fair Tiesto does produce his own tunes, so he doesn't just spin other people's music.

I think he'd be cool on a big outdoor stage, I'd definitely make the effort to see him.

At Creamfields he played a large tent so I can't see why he would not be able to play the larger of the two tents in the dance village. He could headline one of them on the Friday or Saturday night

I'm not a fan of Tiesto but reckon if he can open the Olympic Games in Athens I'm pretty sure that he get enough attention on one of the bigger stages at Glasto.

As for DJs only sticking other peoples records on - mediocre DJs maybe but you can't say that about the likes of Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills or Ricardo Villalobos.

I hope he does not get booked for the dance village or any of the bigger stages... I can think of many better Dj/Producers that should be approached before him the majority of whom have a fee a couple of grand less than his.

Richie Hawtin, Deadmau5, Armin, PVD, eric prydz, 2 many dj's/soulwax, daft punk, boys noize, fatboy slim, chemical brothers, swedish house mafia

to name a few.

Regards,

Dancey acts I'd quite like to see at Glastonbury:

Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin (more than the sum of the parts and then some)

Louderbach

Gui Boratto

Green Velvet

Dave Clarke

Jeff Mills

Magda

The Gaslamp Killer

Hernan Cattaneo

Loco Dice

Dubfire

Sven Vath

Tiga

Luciano

Ellen Allien

James Lavelle

I think it's very unlikely that Tiesto will play at Glastonbury next year. He has never played there, to my knowledge, and I've often wondered why that is. I think it must come down to the amount of money he wants to play? Or, he might never have been approached to play (which, I find hard to believe)..

Anyway, here's a heads up to any Tiesto fans on here! As I wouldn't hold out on a Glasto performance. He has announced the following shows as a part of his Kaleidoscope tour:

Sheffield Arena – March 5, 2010

Brixton Academy – March 11

Cardiff International Arena – March 12

Liverpool Echo Arena – March 13

Birmingham LG Arena – March 20

Tickets go onsale tomorrow.. (but no Manchester date:()

I've seen Tiesto many times over the years. He was brilliant in Ibiza last year but even as someone who still likes trance I thought he was really cheesy and awful at Creamfields this year. So much so that I cancelled the tickets I had pre bought to see him in Ibiza. Even on a good day though I don't really see him as fitting in at Glasto music wise plus he will only play mega gigs for mega money these days and would probably only consider something like the Other Stage. I'd rather stick with the likes of Fatboy Slim for Glasto .

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.
