Stereophonics are one of the bands I always quote when trying to defend my theory that success too early in a career ruins a decent bunch of musicians. Word Gets Around is excellent. Performance and Cocktails is good. Everything else since has been mediocre/piss poor with the exception of Dakota (which I quite like but is nowhere near their best work).

Funnily enough, as the music got worse, the actions of the band members seemed to deteriorate and attract more media attention. Funny that.

I was listening to Rock FM on Tuesday night and caught the tale end of an interview with the Stereophonics and it came up about festivals next year and that they want to do a few and especially Glastonbury Festival. They are in talks so who know's that could be a great warm up for U2 on Friday night........

Seriously dull band - their very best moments are on a par with a rejected oasis song covered by Embrace

The Best slot would be 4am - on the Pyramid, but piped all over the site.

This would help us all sleep after a hard day partying.
