It hasn't.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/sucktheb/4014148866/ is the right link (I think, are you on a mobile phone?) but it's saying we don't have permission to view it.

Linking from flickr can be a pain.

I am definitely getting my Glastonbury-based tattoo done and in Las Vegas, no less! Out there for a wedding so getting me some transatlantic inkage.

Tats are very personal, not everyone likes all of mine but thyey all mean something to me, personaly I dont give a shit if other people like them or not, I like em.

This is a site for discussion though so your opinions are just as relevant

If you want to see bad tattoos type "crap tattoos" into a search engine and see some horrors!

To me though a bad tattoo is one that is badly done, best idea in the world dont work if the "artist" cant do thier job

  • 2 weeks later...

I've been considering something to commemorate my loss of Glasto virginity, but haven't thought of anything yet. Already got my next one lined up for next week anyway so it will have to come later.

Just a note to anyone who is thinking of getting tattoo'd for the first time - don't be scared to chat through ideas with the artists as they are very creative and talented and usually like getting inspiration from people to do something unique (well, the good ones do). Even if you can't draw well, a simple sketch can be turned into a great image in the right hands/mind. I should know, all of mine have been inspired by my own thoughts and sketches and I can't draw for shit.

Dave.... what an awesome artist. I was at the London tat convention a few weeks ago and had a new one done... well half of it done by Davide Andreoli AKA the Italian Rooster. Maybe see you at the Manchester convention?

I have designed one myself and they have it in order to process it into a tattoo. They charge £60 per hour.

I will post a pic once it is done. It is not spectacular but this year is my tenth Glastonbury and I wanted something to mark the occasion. I should not imagine it will tax the artist too much lol.

    • Madonna lived in the UK for absolutely ages and I think is still largely London-based at the moment.  I'm sure she'll be well aware.     But it wouldn't need to be either / or.  Lots of acts do both  - Glastonbury for the hype and BST for the pay.
    • There is a chance that Norton's reaction was very much like our reaction, because people in this country tend to think 'big = Glastonbury'.   Having said that, though, I'm fairly sure they've gone for her again this time, and it's broken down. Whether it's only just broken down or not, I'm not sure, but I'd air on the side of - they thought they had her, up to a certain point.
    • Yeah, I did wonder if they might be getting too big for Piece Hall now. Wet Leg did Castlefield this year and were subbing them at Tramlines. Wishful thinking! I'd happily see them do another outdoor headline in the north of England, wherever it might be (except R+L, which I'm def too old for now 😂)
    • You've certainly got a bunch of American acts who absolutely adore the festival and are willing to bring peanuts for it. You can never discount The Killers on that basis.
    • Law unto herself, Madge. But I think, for a certain generation, Hyde Park still has a touch of mystery and magic - that and Wembley Stadium.
