Looking good folks ! Here's a forcast from a very well respected forcaster posted on another forum yeasterday:

High pressure is going to be building in from the Atlantic this week, giving us a generally dry and increasingly warm spell of summer weather. Unfortunately I'm expecting quite a lot of cloud to be trapped underneath the high and consequently this will limit the possibilities for high temperatures. Never the less temps will be picking up to above average levels and with more sunshine around later in the week the chance is certainly there for a decent amount of summer heat.

Saturday gets the week off to a very poor start. Northerly winds have plunged down across the country giving all of us a disappointingly cool and rather cloudy day. The best of the sunny spells will be out to the west and south-west, but in the north and east sunshine is limited with enough cloud on the east coast to produce a few showers. All areas feeling that nagging northerly wind, but its particularly pronounced in the north and east. Temps on the cool side for mid June, 12-18c.

Overnight, much of the cloud will fade away and many places will have a dry, but cool night with temps down to 5-8c.

Sunday will see the high pressure in the Atlantic starting to edge in. As a result winds should be lighter and from a rather more north-westerly direction. Less in the way of cloud, more sunshine and lighter winds should combine to make Sunday a more pleasent day and feeling warmer with temps of 15-20c.

On Monday high pressure is taking control of the weather the only fly in the ointment will be a possible increase in cloud.

Most places start Monday on a fine, chilly note. Much of the country should stay dry and fine all day, perhaps just a few showers in the far north of Scotland. The sunshine may turn increasingly hazy through the day as cloud gradually moves in from the Atlantic. Quite warm with temps of 17-21c.

Tuesday has high pressure in control so a very quiet day with occasional sunny spells and quite a lot of cloud. The best of the sunny spells probably in the east and here is where the highest temps should be at 22-23c. Otherwise 19-21c and feeling pretty humid.

Wednesday finds high pressure still dominating the weather, but low pressure is trying to edge in from the Atlantic. At this stage is seems the low pressure will only bring a few showers to Ireland and Western Scotland, everywhere else should stay dry and fine, but still with rather a lot of cloud. Temps, 19-23c and feeling humid again.

Thursday is much the same with rather more in the way of showers for Scotland and Northern Ireland, possibly thundery in places, whilst England and Wales has a dry, but rather cloudy day once again but still with some sunny spells. Temps 20-24c.

Friday could find the showers dying out over Scotland and Northern Ireland, with more in the way of sunshine breaking through across England and Wales and temps becoming very warm at 25-27c.

Next weekend is with low confidence, but hot weather on Saturday may give way to thunderstorms on Sunday?

Summary: Mainly fine and dry, Sunny spells but a lot of cloud. Showers in the north later in the week. Increasingly warm and humid.

From the Netweather forum... :D:D:D

".... and this morning the gfs now has the first atlantic low tracking up over our north west towards the northeast... exactly what the ecm predicted alone several days ago! pressure remaining higher to our southern/central areas should ensure a dry warmer week but not exactly wall to wall sunshine, particually closer to the low in the northwest. potential is there for pressure to remain high and build after the first atlantic low has passed. in all, its shaping up to be a weeks weather that we would have been VERY happy to have in the past three summers!

...oh... and its looking promising for a dry glastonbury!!!! "

I rescued a bird which got stuck down our chimney yesterday, we got the gas fire ripped out especially, rather than let it die there.

I'm hoping God will have noticed my act of kindness and return the favour by making it a dry Glastonbury!! That's all I ask

What I am more pleased about is the lack of wind....

I love being at the stone circle at night watching the smoke rise straight up over the site, the sound of drums, people chatting, the smell of wood smoke.

Now although this year I will not be able to see this, I have a mental picture and that will do! :)

weather forum....

"Models looking more like what one would probably expect in summer. Some good punts at warm weather this week and perhaps more humid as the week goes on. I suppose the only downside is that convective possibilities are looking rather low which may mean I could go the entire first half of 2010 without seeing a thunderstorm (for the first time!) Though probably better news for Glastonbury goers.

I have to say I do like the look of extremem FI. A very similar spell of weather to what we had in the second half of May:

cheers

Stolen from the World Cup thread on Discussions, I believe it's appropriate to post this photo of Mrs Bastian Schweinsteiger:

    • Jack White a shout for next year? New album out soon.
    • Steven Wilson Jr touring would be a good fit.   Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem) as he’s touring too next year.   Royston Club. Kingfshr. Bleachers. Spacey Jane. Gang Of Youths. Overpass
    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
