Weather thread 2010

Ok......

First off its not going to be as bad as 07 or 05 even if it does rain...

All the high pressure around will weaken significantly any Atlantic lows to just rain showers, not torrential downpours.

Second. The ground is bone dry. It will suck up moisture like a newly born kitten feeding on it mothers tit

Third. I just dont believe it will be bad, a shower yes, and bit of rain might be, but not biblical rain to drown anybody's experience.

Fourth. Some are being to negative and will give yourself an illness if you dont calm down and have the attitude, "Its going to be fine, but if it rains, well I have the wellies and I was wrong, pass me the decanted-into-a-plastic-bottle JD please..."

Fifth . Its Glastonbury, its expected. Find some odd covered stage and perhaps not do what you were originally going to do and surprise yourself.

Sixth and most importantly. I am taking a wheelchair and god bloody well owes me this year and the last thing I need when stuck in the mud is a bunch of mopy despondent miserable gits moaning about the weather when there is pushing duties to be done, I am not small and it will be a hard job so get your backs into it....

Weather geeks: I'm looking at the ECM on Wetterzentrale, does the "ensemblemittel" chart show the average of the ensembles? If that's the case it's looking alright, the emsemblemittel charts show a much less deep low than the operational.

The UKMO charts out to Thursday don't look bad to me (can't see any further)

The worst thing about the weather changing so quickly and so dramatically is we now have to put up with people joining the thread and posting reports that are 24 hours out of date like they're new information.

"Don't worry guys, it's not going to rain - look at THIS! http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2010/jun/16/glastonbury-2010-met-office"

OK, I'm a grown man and believe I'm about to cry :O .

Just looked at the 'reliable' EMC Data and it is saying the same as GFS. It changed so much from yesterday, please let it change back on Monday. I've been going on and off for the last 25 years (I know, I should act my age - or so my wife keeps telling me) but I fear another 2007 would be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Argggggggggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

That's better :P:P:P

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pissed off with the latest developments, but come on people, this isn't over yet. As I keep saying, look how good last year turned out when all the models turned to shit in less than a week to go!

Well it's all finely blanced with a very intriguing plot with a very internationaly flavour

The twist and turns I'm really not sure what will happen but I reckon we are still in for another couple of plot changes before this story is told.

I really am hoping for a hollywood style happy ending.

In Bristol at present and it is peeing it down

With the apparent lack of confidence in this years anti-rain pact. A rouge weather thread as been assembled to take power should the current alliance crumble. It would seem the people have lost faith in the leadership of this years interim coalition. As last year proved, when they actually predicted similar if not worse condition closer to the event then today.

In a war of this importance we will have to dodge bullets(rain in the area) and come out with battle scars (slightly damp from forgetting ponchos) but victorious my comrades!

I will not relinquish my faith! Not now, not ever...

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
