It depends - 24 hours ago, the prospects were FAR worse than they are today. I hope today's 00Hz readings come true as that would make a VERY pleasant festival weather-wise.

Basically, this thread goes up and down quicker than a whore's drawers. When rain is forecast, people moan. When it's like the 00Hz reading from earlier, people are happy and post amusing pictures of Germans.

right what I propose then is when the misery factor is low we post pics of germans

if it starts looking depressing post the french.

then idiots like me can tell at a glance

the more french the photo the worse the weather

The 'Hz' basically means the time the data is churned out - there are 4 readings per day:

00Hz = midnight

06Hz = 6am

12Hz = midday

18Hz = 6pm

gotta love this comment posted a short while ago on netweather....

GFS showing more hot weather in the latter stage of its run. Low pressure anchored firmly to the west of the UK with high pressure to the south and east drawing up a hot plume of southerly air. Sunny, hot and humid in the south under such a set-up, possibly into the 30's

You seem to be imagining 'H's. The times given for the runs are 00Z, 06Z etc. The Z stands for Zero meridian which is the real line of longitude that passes through Greenwich. All other time zones add a plus or minus to show how far out they are from real time. The notation is correctly referred to as Universal time (UTC) and used to be called Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), though GMT still exists, it is not based on the atomic clocks that specify UTC so it is not exactly the same thing.

Hz = Hertz which is something else completely :)
