This year is even worse. It's VS Man Utd away and it's a 5.30pm kickoff on the Saturday.

It's nice to take a break from the festival and go to a pub for a nice cold pint or 5, but it's a pain having to miss bands.

Plus if we lose, then that'll pretty much ruin the day.

So it looks like this year i'll be going to the pub on my own, probably in my Arsenal shirt, and likely to risk the piss taking from Man Utd fans on the long walk back to the campsite.

yep, got this problem too....Arsenal ST holder and I go regulary away, the last time I missed United away was 7 years ago :O

You are right we've been on TV a few times, whilst i've been at reading (Boro 03, Norwich 04, Man City 06 and Fulham 08)

My main concern is that if I go to the pub to watch it, I'll have to miss Ian Brown! :)

I guess it depends what you put first - football or music. I have to watch the football because I know I won't enjoy the bands if I don't, I'll just be constantly fiddling with my phone checking the score.

If Utd tank us 4-0 I might just shoot off home :P

Forest fan and weve got arch rivals D*rby County at home

Been moved back to a 1pm kick off though, so if I can make it back in time to see most of Maximo Park to get a good spot for the Prodigy then I might mission it up to Nottingham saturday morning, and back again straight after the final whistle.

Do you not know anyone on vodaphone with a sky sports subscription on there phone. My mate has one, the quality aint that bad on his phone either.

I love football, probably more than anything else, but at this early stage in the season I would personally not be too bothered about missing a game, espeshially if its on TV, maybe if I was going to an away match , but even thats at a push.

The only definate for me would be if we had the mackems away. Anything else this early I'd choose the festival!

I think the problem for me is that its such a big game for us....The other years when i've gone to the pub to watch Arsenal games there haven't been bands i've wanted to watch at the same time...this year though Ian Brown is clashing with the game, and he's one of the top 3 i want to see that weekend!

grrrrrrr :)

I'm missing the joys of Gateshead at home, first time in years I can remember us being at home on the weekend of the festival actually. Who will be proudly sporting their teams shirt at the festival then? Which shirts should I look out for?
