Stone Circle

I have not read the thread for a who load of reasons, however I was informed by somebody who I have no reason not to believe, was not one of my party or the party I was in and is connected in a authoritarian way that.....

The stone circle is covered with CCTV now and the Police monitor it 24/7 whilst we are all there. This includes the use of night vision gear.

How true that is I don't know, but it fits in with a number of stories regarding raids over the weekends....

Might be way off the mark..... or I might not be! whoooo knows!

I don't mate, the cost of this sort of surveillance would be a joke to the festival itself (in terms of license). But I believe it was different and somewhat controlled to the point I was making in the first place. I like to think i'm old enough, wise enough and experienced enough to know the differences in the stone circle activity on scoring since Glastonbury 2000 and it was different this time around. I am of course talking about being sat within the actual circle stones from midnight onwards.

Now this is an interesting post and have been following it from my return to an awkward but good glasto, I too spent some nights up at the circle and was lucky to be intoxicated with some good whiskey instead of the psychedelics me and my pals used to neck when we didn't have to worry whether it was fake or not, guess we are getting older!

But we all know some magic was lost with the fence going up but we wouldn't be going any more as it would be cancelled for eternity so I won’t moan on about that. But this conspirousy theory about the group at the circle selling everything you could imagine and had a different selection every night is not far from his truth. The security were brutal this year and seemed more like night club bouncers working the day shifts while the nights were covered by friendlier volunteers working for their tickets. I was busted within the first hour of having pitched our tents (first time in 8 glasto’s, well had to happen one day I suppose!) and the security took all our stash, no evidence bags like discussed in other forums which is illegal to not do so and obviously going to take it or pass it on to this well organised group.

If you have a chance next year watch them pitch a fire within the circle and bully their way around with watchers and carriers, intimidating the lesser advanced sellers. We all know it’s illegal but that was the only place in the world where you could relax and get totally lost, there seemed to be some lack of the typical bouncer security roaming so they complete control.

I didn’t relax this year and was always looking over my shoulder, the days of roaming around like a town drunk are over I believe some may think for the best but for a few days of the year to do that was a privilege and will miss that freedom I once craved.

Well that’s my ten cent's worth!

I came up with a fool proof way of getting things into the festival this year purely by accident.

As follows:

Load trolley up with beer, tents etc.

Tie said beer with bungee cords.

within 20m of gate an in sight of stewards have bungee cords come loose.

Place forehead directly in front of flying metal bungee hook.

Resultant gushing of blood will bring stewards running who will fast track you through security to get you to the medical tent.

Downside, 1" scar bang in the middle of my forehead!!!

Hey......

Does anyone know if these clowns will be here again...........?

Basically if SIS......Stuarts Security...is you can bet your ass on it.

Any bunch of black kids acting as a unit within the Stone Circle is this.

f**k the BNP.

Any militant operation going on is/are ripping you/us off.........

Its basically tax your stash as a secuirity guard on site...build it up....sell it later down the stone circle....

I am talking from experience....

don't let them c**ts rob you......tell them to get the police....they won't.

Anywhere there is a large enough market (festis) you'll get gangs of dealers, some good, some ripoff merchants. Particularly at the stone circle at glasto, it's easy to punt stuff, good and bad. Does anyone have any proof that these guys are related to the security?

There is NO firms running any section of glastonbury, that was different pre super fence but in 2000's nothing but a lot of free lancers, mostly people who have brought a little extra of there own. And any larger crews certainly haven't been intimidating anyone by the Circle.

Some people have been watching the wire too much.

On my way up to the circle after Prodigy last year I followed a police van full of coppers, driving up with no lights on. They parked up and watched the circle and once I met up with a friend we just sat and waited. Sure enough, 'bout 20 mis later, a load of them descended on the circle and nabbed one of the dealers. I just thought it a token bust at the time, but they must have a few plants in there just watching. :P
