Solfest and Bearded Theory have everything you could want in a festival but on a much much smaller scale, also going to Beautiful Days in August, I've heard lots of people say its their favourite festival.

I would recommend Lowlands Festival in The Netherlands, which in fact is inspired on Glastonbury. But, then a well organised version in terms of bathrooms, showers etcetera. It's very well known for it's atmosphere and still big and small bands play. Also, it's in August, so Glasto beginning of summer and Lowlands to close the summer. Life's great! check: www.lowlands.nl

I went to Shambala last year which is a brilliant low-key festival that does an awesome fancy dress parade. It has the same kind of vibe as Glasto but there's more world music and crafty things going on. Not going this year but would definitely recommend it.

I went to see Fairport Convention at Glasto and they spent half their time talking about their own festival Cropready, which other people tell me is quite good, anyone know anything about it? It seems as though it would be quite folky with FC in charge!

Useful thread for someone who will be having to get his Glasto fix outside of Worthy Farm next year B)

I'm seriously tempted to haul myself up to Green Man, and the costs should work out about the same if not a tiny bit less.

Alternatively, I may do BD as its closer (and I promised I would go this year)

Time to go visit some new eFest boards

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
