I wouldn't be shocked though, glastonbury is known for taking a punt on acts (kol being a prime example) and daft punk have headlined o2 wireless before so i'd say their big enough. Ultimately though, sod how big they are, if they played it would be the best party in the world, and they'd put all the legends to shame

To be honest i'm not familiar with them. I wouldn't want a Pyramid headliner to be an unknown. The headliners need to have starpower. There are plenty of other slots they could play at Glasto though and i'd be happy to give them a shot.

For anyone skeptical, please do the following:

Get their album, alive 2007, it's essentially a greatest hits set with daft punk mashing their own tunes into each other, and as a result is one of the best live albums i own

Seriously though, if you haven't heard of them then fair play, but give them a chance?

Daft Punk will be hitting the road again to promote the soundtrack to the new Disney film, Tron Legacy.

In a recent interview Tron director, Joseph Kosinski confirmed that there definitely would be Daft Punk Tron-themed events on the horizon.

Prodigy have had the most overall sales. It's not fair to compare on recent releases and tours because daft punk havnt had any?

But recent releases and touring get the band back in people's attentions and bring them new fans and listeners. People forget about bands if they don't regularly keep releasing material.

Its entirely possible that Daft Punk might have more fans but on every possible measurable scale at this moment in time Prodigy would be more popular than Daft Punk.

And which release are you on about? Am pretty sure Prodigy's best selling album sold more than Daft Punk's.

Anyway even if Daft Punk are somehow more popular than Daft Punk, since The Prodigy only headlined the other stage then it would need Daft Punk to be a LOT more popular than The Prodigy to headline the Pyramid, which they quite obviously aren't.

I was also shocked to find out that daft punk were more popular than prodigy too. But worldwide they are actually have a much larger fanbase. I guess we wouldn't imagine it because we're in England, and yes, over here they have alot more fans.

I can see how you dont think they are big enough to headline pyramid, but tbh i think theyre too big for other and i dont see them not taking a headline slot.

I think that they should headline the other stage, They are a big band, but their type of music as a headliner is suited for the other stage.

On a positive note it looks like they may actually be touring in 2010!!! :angry:

If Wikipedia is correct then Fat of the Land (Prodigy's bestselling album) outsold Discovery (Daft Punk's) in Europe, Australia, Canada and the USA.

I'm not basing the amount of fans on official figures, but if you compare Daft Punk video views on youtube to Prodigy, theres a massive difference. There's a massive difference in amount of fans on the facebook pages too. Massive difference in myspace views as well.

I didn't think it at first, but I do think Daft Punk are bigger.
