small festivals in north west?

Anyone know of any? Got the camping and live music bug big time after coming home and want something for later on in the summer. I'd rather go to a BNP rally than to Leeds. Any suggestions most appreciated.

Beat-Herder is on this weekend - sorry, know that doesn't help Never been before but my mates all say it's a cracking little festival with great people and atmosphere. I'm setting off tomorrow! Keep it in mind for another year!

There's also Moorfest (went in 07, had a top time despite the rain, tho I've heard the fest is a bit different now and apparently isn't as good - not sure why. It's in a different place to when I went).

Thought of Shamania too but that's not on this year according to the website.

as its an "arena" guessing at Kendal you can't take alcohol in when watching the bands?

I'm off there tomorrow too, it's about 20 minutes up the road from me... first time last year and it's a good come-down from Glasto. Nice small site, beautiful camping fields, a few "big" bands and then loads of mad stuff for all generations the rest of the time. Well worth a look next year.

went to Solfest last year..it was a fantastic festival..and you can camp next to your car! really well laid out...and everything you want in a festival! would recommend it.

hey I am going to that this year. Is it an "older" festival or full of young peeps? I am 33 and went to kendal calling last year and I felt incredibly old and out of place there!

go to Y-not festival, it's near derby, which isn't north west... but its got some good bands, so why not?

strummercamp in cheadle hulme, you will have to wait til nxt May tho....ill be working again....good if you like punk and ska etc
