Neil, you need to get a grip mate!!! I haven't read one post which has claimed that huge numbers of people to think he was dire! You are making things up to validate your ridiculous posts!!!

This thread is proof enough. :D

I'd guess that something like the same numbers of people have posted in this thread to say that they or their mates thought him bland and crap as Bruce fans have to say they thought it great.

It seems as tho you - like so many other Bruce morons - have a blind spot for any comments that are anything less than glowing.

That's life. Get over it.

what says it all?... the fact that you think he's MOR?

no, the fact that MOR is a term that was coined specifically for Bruce.

Middle of the road means not of any extreme. In other words, bland and safe, right in the middle.

MOR is as descriptive and informative as 'bland'..

spot on. The perfect descriptions for Bruce.

Steel Pulse are pretty MOR to me

Of course, MOR is known the world over as the music of struggle and anti-oppression.:lol::lol:

And if you want to start down a politics angle for these two acts, I assure you that you'd be on the losing side.

I am starting to think your only carrying on with this pathetic argument to get a response. Would I be right?

No, I'm carrying on with this argument because people like you continue to try to insist that it's wrong for me to think him bland, and because people like you continue to try to insist that huge numbers along with me also thought him bland.

morons is not a very nice word Neil, i thought this was all about opinion not name calling - and i thought we had agreed on Steel Pulse and Madness too, if not The Specials....

If people don't act the moron then I've no need to point out that they're being morons.

Well clearly that's the sort of person Neil is, if someone doesn't agree with him he resorts to playground name calling!!! Rather sad really, isn't it?

:lol::lol::lol:

What you really mean is when arseholes like you won't accept the truth that huge numbers thought him bland and so resort to calling me a liar, such arseholes get rightfully called morons.

Get over yourself, pleeaaasse!!!!

I don't have a blind spot, I admit and realise Bruce is not everyone's cup of tea. You don't seem to be able to accept that some people really do like him, so resort to childish name calling. You seriously need to get over yourself mate, and get a god damn grip!!!

I *ABSOLUTELY* accept that people adore him.

Can those people that adore him accept that others think him crap? Nope .... else this convo would not be where it is.

The name calling is the result of some arsehole Bruce fans refusing to accept the fact that huge numbers were VERY far from impressed on Saturday. Get over it.

Fair point. It does sound very similar. And he did play it.

and did the Bruce fans who think it's an awful song (one person at least who is a raving Bruce fan and who is posting in this thread posted prior to the fest about just how cringing it is) sing along and cheer wildly, or did they stop for a moment and go "this song is truly awful".

It's not the opinion, it's the manner in which it's expressed.

What you're doing (the way you're expressing it) is akin to going into the Show Your Flag thread and repeatedly saying "Flags suck and I've asked lots of people and they all hate them and you - you're idiots for liking them" or wandering into a thread about Rolf Harris and calling everyone there who liked him a thick Aussie for doing so.

except you're doing that poor reading thing again.

Nowhere have I said anyone is an idiot for liking him.

What I have said is that some are idiots for denying that lots thought him awful.

I have to say I agree with Neil on this one.

I just thought his performance was really bland and to be honest rather cheesy,

also the fact is that it lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes and my dad wouldn't let me go

and see Jarvis Cocker on my own made it even worse, at the end when my dad was like

"He'll play another song" and he did I just thought to myself "When the hell is it going to

end!"

I respect that people like him and respect his status in music but it's just really really not

my thing.

How highly must you think yourself if you believe we are having a fit because you don't like Bruce? I really couldn't care less if you like Bruce or not, the only thing I have a problem with is your continued lying over me and others claiming it to be impossible for large numbers of people to dislike Bruce, a clear lie!!! Another problem I have is that you continue to name call and act like a complete child!!!

you claimed I was lying when I said all but one person I asked hated Bruce.

FFS. I've even posted to show where you said it (so won't bother to quote you again).

You need to get over yourself mate, you need to get a grip and realise you are not as important as you would like to think. WE DO NOT CARE IF YOU DISLIKE BRUCE!!!!!!!!!

:lol::(:lol:

I don't think I'm important at all. I do, however, think I have a right to express my opinion and my experiences and to not be called a lair for doing so - which is EXACTLY what YOU did!

And you claim to not care. :):lol:

the political question is a very interesting one Neil, Steel Pulse are obviously a great band in the reggae movement and with songs like ku klux klan need to be known for their great work. Bruce who was asked by Mr Obama to play on his rallies and in washington is a direct descendant of Guthrie and Dylan and has had a long running relationship with Amnesty. Born in the USA was hijacked by that tosser Reagan, Obama stole it back. We are all on the same side, Bruce would stand shoulder to shoulder with Marley, Lennon, Toots, Strummer, Bragg, Young, Peter Gabriel and Don Letts...what a team!!!!

Guthrie

Dylan Marley Lennon Toots

Strummer Bragg Springsteen Young

Letts Gabriel

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
