The Summer Solstice :)

Let me just tell you know what the Solstice means to me.

First of all it mean't f**k all. Then after trying to kill myslef, and my children been taken into care, I was in a very bad place. A friend literally grabbed me by the neck and said "It's the Solstice for you".

I was taken from my squaddie background, into the most magical world i could imagine. A world of acceptance, a world of wonder, but most of all all a world of hugs. Since that day I have wanted to repay a little something, and I choose to volunteer at festivals. That season saved my life :0

That was 2005, and I have spent every Solstice and Beltane with my friends, but this year I cannot. My friends around me used to give me the strength to move forward in my fight. This year I am on my own, but I wish my friends where around me. But I am not on my own, I have 3 kids with me, and I hope and pray my friends are thinking of me B)

For most of you this night is f**k all, but for some it is our life.

I hope that the morningsun brings you a prosperous summer. If any one wants to watch the sunrise you can :P

Lovely message mate, I'm glad that you were dragged back to us, you have some good friends B) Think of Glasto as being an extended Solstice celebration, sunrise at the Stone Circle symbolises the start of a new day, the first day of the rest of your life :P

Thanks Rufus(Dave) for bringing this up. I hope you have a good Solstice whatever, even if it is not with your friends.

I know what you mean about it being a special, magical time. :P

If I had the opportunity I would be spending this Summer Solstice in Glastonbury itself seeing in the dawn on the Tor but it's not to be alas so I have to accept it is not my Karma but maybe next year, who knows ....

(Will be there for the Winter Solstice in December though B) )

Happy Summer Solstice anyway to those who have any interest. :D

Best Wishes

(another)Dave xx

being a parent is scary, we all make mistakes every day, but you've come this far, you can do it.

you've bridged the gap between the place you were in when you lost your children to the one you were in when you got them back, that required incredible courage and effort.

I don't know you but I've a feeling you're stronger than you realise, stay positive!!

She's 55, works for the Womens Institute and reads the Daily Mail

Let's see if tonights trip opens her mind up a little!

    • I saw that the payment method is contactless wristbands - I understand you collect them at the festival site and can top them up there as well? Yes, there are top up points, keep the recepe if you want to withdraw the money in the end   How much does food and drink usually cost at the festival? We would like to know how much money we should prepare for the festival. Beer, Wine etc. 5€, Gin tonic, Whishkey Cola were 6-6.5€, food 10€    Is there a bus from the festival site to the city center? And are there any stops along the way? No offical info yet, but ussualy there are free festival buses from Ljubljanica to festival site, with few stops on the way. Nice to get to the festival but crowded from festival back to the city.   Where is the best place to find an Uber/Bolt to return from the festival site?
