So let me understand.

Some people like them. Some people don't like them. Some people feel its ok to say 'i dont like fleet foxes' on the internet. Some people don't think it's ok to say 'i don't like fleet foxes' on the internet.

Am I up to speed?

yep me. i forced myself to listen to their album yesterday and wasn't at all impressed. quite annoyed that i wasted all that time actually, but impressed that i didn't switch it off earlier. shame, i've heard such good things about them.

another one of those "one decent song" bands.

Not at all, just not a scenster with the opinion that a band is crap when it becomes popular and a band that the broadsheets champion and sell very little units are amazing. Not knocking anyones musical taste, just gets a bit annoying when living in the North and you hear posh Southern ever so green students banging on about how much Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and Regina Spector are tooootalllly changing the world when they could barely name a Hendrix, Stone Roses or Doors song.

I do like them but do feel they are on the wrong stage - would come over better in say the Acoustic tent or one of the other smaller stages.

Personally I like threads that get people discussing what they do/don't like and why - makes life a little more interesting!

f**k! I must be a real anamoly! I'm a northerner who likes Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Hendrix, The Roses and the Stones!

There'll be cultural anthropologists the world over queueing up to analyse me.

(I'm not keen on Regina Spector though).

No I really like them.

But do continue to spend your time articulating how you don't like a band. I mean it's not like you're wasting time that could be spent on, oh, say, finding stuff you do like.

There's so much amazing music in the world, why waste your energy talking about the stuff you don't like? Unless you're directly asked of course, would probably be rude not to say it then.

Don't like? Just file under "don't like" in brain and then move on :D

I really like this thread.

So please do continue to spend your time articulating how you don't like people articulating how they don't like a band. I mean, it's not like you're wasting time that could be spent on, oh, say starting or contributing to more meaningful threads

Don't like reading people's opinions of bands? Just file under don't like in brain and then move on

Fleet Foxes have written one of the best albums of the decade, great harmonies, lyrics, melodies, mood, just coz its not blurring "thats not my name" in your face or some such shit with some gay beat. Come on man these are seriously good and its blatant to see.

I think they're ace. The album is something a bit different, that has managed to make a slight breakthrough into the mainstream, which is no bad thing. Good sunny tunes for a similarly sunny afternoon/evening.

Is this the thread where all the forum retards congregate or have standards just slipped on here lately?

Obviously you're not a retard just because you don't enjoy the music of Fleet Foxes, but some of the things said here are laughable. "Ridiculous Pyramid slot" - what, because the Pyramid gets exclusively great bands? "They sound like Goldfrapp" - get some ears. And the IRISHMANC bloke...well I think the fact you feel the need to have your username in capital letters probably identifies you as a bit of a knuckle dragger.

I love the Stone Roses and Fleet Foxes. The Doors are f**king rubbish though.

    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
    • You'd think that something like bad weather was in the basics of festival planning. After the shitshow of Madrid, you'd think they'd learnt their lesson, apparently not...
