Hi, its my first glasto for 10 years and also my stag weekend. Im arriving Thursday morning and was wondering what people could recommend for me and my mates to get upto on the Thursday night, is there anything in particular that we shouldnt miss or should we just go wondering about and see where the night takes us.

Pussy Parlure

Annie Nightingale Opening Party

General Midi

Paul Arnold

Billy Nasty (Dubstep Set)

The Qemists (DJ Set)

Afghan Headspin

Adsorb

Vent

Groove Diggerz

Ben & Lex

I shall be there for these 3, providing that they don't clash with Yes Sir Boss at the Croissant Neuf Tent/Stage. Not heard of the others (except Annie Nightingale), probably be a cracking night!

Or....

If you fancy a bit of a hoe-down, can't go wrong with a bit of Pronghorn @ Club Dada!

My advice would be not to assume that you're going to be able to see any of the bands that are playing, especially the popular ones. We've been greatly disappointed for the last 2 years to find that we couldn't even get near the tents.

Pussy Parlour is awesome on Thursday night, so don't go because I don't want to queue for too long

Want to go to the Queen's Head this year, Kap Bambino are playing. They're a french electro band, saw them a few weeks back and they were amazing.

Afghan Headspin will be droppin some HEAVY basslines at Pussy Parlour on Thurs, so heavy you will feel them from the outside anyway..

Seriously tho, it's worth facing the masses to get in on the action here as it is THE place to be on the Thurs night!

Bombfrog's right, there is plenty going on Thursday but not enough to keep everyone busy so any vaguely big names will get rammed. I suspect everyone and their dogs will have a go at seeing Golden Silvers and Metronomy at the Queen's Head, best avoid (or at least don't get upset if you can't get anywhere near them). As long as you have no particular plan, you'll have a great time

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
