for me, The Specials are the band I'm most looking forward to. The Newcastle gig in April was one of my best gigs ever largely due to the crowd - everyone was dancing and singing along!

sooo who's gonna join me and get the pyramid field dancing??

for anyone not sure how to skank...have a look at this :O

Saw them recently @ Brixton & was blown away with them.(Also saw them first time around old fart that I am!) Suffice to say I can't wait to be in their presence again so I'll be joining the skankers @ the Pyramid. Then I'll be off to see Ray Davies in the acoustic tent :O

Anyone else think they're gonna get a huge crowd? They just seem to be loved by everyone, I think the same will happen for Madness. Them being under Neil Young probably helps a lot aswell and might even convince some to stay and watch.

haha oldies (I'm just jealous) newcastle was opening date and just perfect really - Nev and Terry did a top job singing - who needs dammers eh???

hhmm you better stay away from me cause I'm needing a pork pie hat :P

we caught the last 30 mins of the Leeds outdoor gig last month and dispite not being in the fenced off bit we had a wicked time, loads of us jumped railings up to these steps that faced the stage and all skanked away :P we were at a festival up the road but decided to go catch the end of their set

yeah the crowd will be massive - as long as they all dance I don't mind :O

I will be there with some original vintage skanking. I first saw The Specials on a Two Tone tour around 79/80 (its all a little hazy).....I seem to remember they were on with the Selecter and another ( maybe The Beat).....I also seem to remember it being at the festival pavillion,Skegness or the drill hall at Lincoln. It was pretty wild with lots of audience participation( ie punchy kicky fun) but I was young and foolish then.........now I will stand at the back and sway skankily.

.......mind you madness may induce a nutty dance or two.

:P:):O:(:P : :P

Saw them in Sheffield recently and they were amazing. Will definitely have my skank on, then sit down for a nice relax in the company of Mr Young.

Plus I was outside for Madness at LV in 07, but couldn't hear them, so I'm looking forward to that.

All together now: Rudeboy, rudeboy!

looking forward to this very much :D

saw Madness in LV a couple of years back, and I have to say, skanking space was pretty limited. not quite enough room to really cut loose, it was more of a sort of communal skank with chaps all around you! however with the whole of the Pyramid field as my dancefloor, I'll be in full flow this time :)
