Funnily enough I was thinking about this on the way in to work this morning - was listening to left, right, left, right, left and thought that they tick all the boxes - active and touring at the moment, big enough to cause a stampede as Emily Eavis suggested, the kind of band that would do a smaller show at glasto. Could be good if true.

If the secret set is Emily Eavis is referring to is Coldplay i will be severly dissapointed. Muse would be so much better, hell i'd even take the libertines over this pile of turd!

I think it would be seriously stupid of Glastonbury to have an act the size of Coldplay play the park! It would be a crowd control nightmare!! Can you imagine it?? :D

And then if it were to happen, what would it be like for this throng of people to get from the Park to the Pyramid to see Bruce?? f**k that!!

IMO..........not going to happen!..........As I have said it wil be someone like Placebo, Super Furry Animals etc etc............

I WISH that Coldplay fans would stop this wishful thinking!

Hi, Not posted for a very, very, very long time. Anyhoo, I was reading the Bon Iver thread and like a few on it, I'd not really heard his music. So I popped over to MySpace and checked out a couple of songs. I also noticed on MySpace he's down to play Glastonbury on the 27th + 28th. The 28th is on the Other stage, whilst the 27th is on the Park Stage at 8pm.

I'm completely non-plussed about Coldplay, but make of this added info whatever you like!

Cheers.

actually, I really don't think that applies, as long as it remains 'secret' (or at least nothing more than guesses that it might be).

Think about it - people have a choice of defo seeing a band they want to see, or of trekking up to The Park on a "maybe I'll get to see someone I like, but it might be someone I hate" basis. Last year - with strong rumours of two very popular bands, few bothered to make that trek.

Coldplay were excellent in 2005 or when ever it was. Not the biggest fan of these and think Chris Martin is a bit of an Annoying git but would be good to see them there again.

Probably the busiest ive seen the pyramid stage when they played though, so as people have said could be dangerous if they were to play the park, that little road up to it would be rammed.

    • 1 - Mock Media - Rat Bastard 2 - Maquina - Body Transmission 3 - Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit   Honourable mentions to The Hu - Hun, Madonna - Confessions II, and Swapmeet - Mount Zero for also being solid.   Sadly, really didn't connect with the new Yard Act, a real shame as loved their last two albums and thought this one would be a shoe-in for AOTM, but felt it was a bit too generic..
