there's around 60,000 people a day reading efests (all of efests, not just the forums) at the moment.

I'd say that's the result of your internet connection.

The only thing that makes these forums run slow is when something hits this site occasionally and takes the load up to the sort of extreme levels that happen on Glasto ticket day - when that does happen, you're very likely to get a "forums busy" message for a short while.

The more normal busy times doesn't have the servers break into any sort of sweat.
