thats quite surprising as they've been staying clear of each others announcements so far

I do think that Slipknot will actually stick to being a download exclusive and this is a way around it where they may play a couple of songs, FNM is slightly different situation as they are only going to be around this year maybe next so will try and make as much money as possible whereas Slipknot don't want to be pissing off promoters as they will be around for a while yet.

I still think its between The Offspring and Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam won't play. Even if it wasn't under Linkin Park, they still wouldn't. The fact that it would be under Linkin Park just makes it even more unlikely.

To quote their website if people still think it will happen:

Pearl Jam is busy planning out the remainder of the year, but beyond the 4 Europe shows in August, the 2 U.S. Festival appearances, and the Toronto and Chicago shows, nothing has been confirmed to date. The band would like to let you know that there are tentative plans to play a number of shows in the Western U.S. In the early fall. Please keep checking pearljam.com for the latest official news.
