How has this clash even occured? Surely you've had your tickets for glasto booked for some time now which means that:

Either you didn't check your dates when booking the tickets, in which case it's your fault and you should do the right thing and go to the wedding.

Or your borther has organised a wedding at short notice and not deemed it important enough to check with you before booking the date. In which case it's his fault and you should come to glasto.

I don't see why you can't do both! Go to Glastonbury wednesday, thursday and then leave friday afternoon so you get to Sheffield in the evening. Then leave Saturday night to get back to the festival for Sunday morning ;) Or even just go to the festival for the first 3 days. You need to find a way as you'll regret it.

However, you still need to get to the wedding regardless.

Just go to Glasto, you'll have so much fun you'll forget there was even a wedding planned for the Saturday, and you can deal with the consequences when you get back...

After all, Swine Flu's gonna kill us all soon, so this may be the last Glasto EVER! ;)

f**k the wedding off. He is clearly a bellend for booking a wedding that clashes with glasto. I would go to the festival without hesitation and wouldnt have the slightest shred of doubt.

ust tell him you'll go to the next one. Divorce rates are going through the roof these days

As far as I'm concerned if you only give your guests 2 months notice then you're asking for trouble.

At the end of the day it's up to you but if you do decide to come to glasto you can easily justify your choice.

What would you want your brother to do if the roles were reversed?

I voted wedding thinking you said Sunday. Still, on the face of it you could turn up Wednesday have Thursday and Friday, leave after the Friday night headliner, be home for Saturday morning (it is in the morning?) Larger shandy at the reception and then 300 miles back to Pilton for Saturday night, Sunday day and leave late on Monday.

Let's be honest though, if you turn up for Glastonbury, chances are, you won't be leaving till Monday!

Have you spoken to your brother about it? I take it, from the fact he's organised the Wedding for that particular weekend he has little interest in festivals. Or! Did you book your tickets knowing he was getting married?

Edit-Please ignore the repetitive elements of this post. I think on further reflection you should Facebook him back 'sorry broth' I'm off to Glastonbury that weekend. I'd love to come but it's me and (insert girlfriends name)s 10 anniversary. I've had it planned for ages and' etc, etc. You could even add 'actually I was planning on popping the big question myself'

invitation to a wedding on facebook thats shocking!!!

You know you want to go to Glastonbury and 10 years is a big deal for you and your girlfriend. You say you only knew your brothers wedding was in the summer its pretty short notice he has given you to the actual date.

At the end of the day if you go to the wedding your not going to want to be there, and will be defalt have a shit time. Your brother will be able to tell you do not want to be there, so whats the point. Get them a really good wedding present and get yourself of to Glastonbury

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
