Shangri La (Lost Vagueness)

Good plan.

I'm going to try and spend a night in Shangri La, a night at the circle and a night in the Dance tents. Hopefully I won't go to the silent disco and love it so much I don't go anywhere else.

This is a great fear of mine.

How do people deal with deciding what to do? There's too many places to go to, sometimes we end up flitting from here to there, without lingering so much in anyone place. It's just too exciting!

I'm a fan of "after hours dancing" so usually end up somewhere where I can cut shapes but I suppose I just see where the night takes me.

Does anyone know if bands will be playing at Shangri-La again? Saw some brilliant bands in The Pub but that won't be there this year

Yeah me too, I'm drawn to the music, much to the annoyance of my group who don't seem to enjoy the after hours dancing.

That's the plan. I might have to ditch my aimless group who just seem to wander non-stop!

There's two DJ's playing different songs so you have half the tent singing and dancing to one song whilst the other half dance and sing to something completely different eg RATM - Killing In The Name Of v Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas or something equally mad!

You can change the channel to listen to the other song if you wish.

Lots of fun, especially as the songs all tend to be good stuff to sing and dance along to.

Blackhole... another idea, if your band schedule allows, is to go when a headliner is on. There's a fair bit still going on but you can move around really easily.

Does seem a bit crowded. What time would you say that vid was taken?

All seems fairly tame though. I'm guessing there's much more to it than can be portrayed in a video.

Shangri La was just about my favourite thing about Glastonbury last year. I'm usually exhausted by the time the headliners have finished but headed straight there and went right through to 5am! (ably assisted by only one stimulant - Red Bull!)

It was crowded, but I felt Ok even at that time, but it did seem to get better and better as the night went on as it just seemed like the crowd got to know each other. Loads of people were talking to us because, in our 40s, the youngsters seemed to think it was past our bedtime!!

It's always hilarious when off their head 20-somethings come rolling up with "Wahey - fair play mate - thats how I want to be when I'm old!" - and genuinely believe they've just paid you a compliment!
