Possible Bands

Okay so for those with half a brain, you will have noticed and read about how the economic crisis has affected the bands being booked for Reading/Leeds this year. This is, to a relative account, likely to affect the amount of bands that can be booked from abroad due to the poor exchange rate with the dollar, as we have all been told before.

So, what I'm asking is what bands, from the UK, are possibilities for this year. This means excluding those who are playing other festivals obviously.

My big shout would be for Ash to be the headliner above Jamie T. I'd be upset if that were true because it'd mean I'd miss them but would be psyched if they were the main stage special guests.

So yeah, any UK bands currently unattached to another festival that could easily be tempted to take one of the remaining slots?

I thought the price increase was to make up for any exchange rate problems, allowing them to book as many american bands as they normally would.

Ash are headlining Truck along with Supergrass. Don't know if that's an exclusive or not though.

Ash are one fo my favourite bands but i suspect these days they would play under jamie t. The last album was very average and didnt sell.

I wouldn't imagine that it's an exclusive. Supergrass wouldn't be a bad shout either.

Ash are the ultimate festival band though, play the greatest hits with only a few newer ones. So good.

Ash played 2 years ago, lets avoid repeat booking in the same slots if at all possible.

As said, after the ticket price hike, there's no real reason they should be forced to go for UK bands.

I know, i guess there is only so many bands that are big enough, but bands the size of ash however, there must be plenty of bands as big as them.
