Black Spiders, Cynic and Gama Bomb would be very strong late additions for me, though I can;t imagine I'd even get time to see them! :P

Theres an announcement this Monday

says ''This Monday/Tues night - yes you guessed - another midnite announcement. 17 bands !! These are mainly up and coming bands - some sleaze - punk and grunge. A few I like and a few I dont. Makes those clashes easier - can not do with any more clashes !! these are mainly the 3rd stage bands.''

With just over 5 weeks to go until the UK’s premier rock festival, THE DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL AT DONINGTON PARK opens its doors to tens of thousands of die-hard rock fans, we’re pleased to announce a brand new set of bands confirmed to perform at this year’s event.

Sunset Strip glam-rockers STEEL PANTHER, death metallers TRIGGER THE BLOODSHED (who played Download in 2008), Iron Maiden offspring LAUREN HARRIS (who has played Download twice before) and British punk rockers HEXES (who include Radio 1 Rock Show host Daniel P.Carter in their line up) will be joined by HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, HUNTING THE MINOTAUR, JAPANESE VOYEURS, WHITE MAN KAMIKAZE, LOVERMAN, BLACK SPIDERS, GENERAL FIASCO, SACRED MOTHER TONGUE, 69 EYES, DEAR SUPERSTAR, PULLED APART FROM HORSES, VIOLENT SOHO and BRIDES.

These acts join headliners FAITH NO MORE, SLIPKNOT and DEF LEPPARD in Download’s 7th year in celebrating the true diversity of rock music with all sub-genres catered for, whether you’re into thrash metal, classic rock, prog-metal or nu-metal!

A limited amount of day and guest area tickets have recently been put on sale for all three days – these can be purchased through www.downloadfestival.co.uk alongside weekend and RIP tickets and packages.

    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
