Just so we stop (hopefully) getting four million posts a day about 'how to take drinks into the area' or 'how big is the arena' and 'how many toilets are there in the arena', I just thought I'd say:

haha, i went to glasto before i ever went to reading, when i got to the entrance to the arena of reading i stood mouth open, like.....i cant take what in where? an arena?.....we get thrown out when? what? why?.....flabbergasted, never been back to reading, glasto all the way

For me, the lack of an arena is the best thing about Glastonbury and the one that really differentiates it from all the other big festivals. I love the fact that once you're in you're in, and don't have to furtively hide your drink/drugs about your person to get past security every time you go from tent to stage. It makes the whole atmosphere so much better and means all the stages aren't crammed into an area so small that the sound from each tent/stage bleeds all over the others.

I wish there was an arena. With really cool security guards called Big Dave on all sides, keeping me inside with my bottle of piss all primed to throw at the next band.

Big Dave could keep out all those w**kers who don't believe that Kasabian truly ARE the bestest thing ever. They can go and hug trees and shag a homeless guy who says he's a traveller.

At V you're not allowed to take chairs or umbrellas inside the arena and all plastic bottles have to be sealed, is this the same for Glastonbury?
