2.5 hours?

  1. 1. At the moment, do you think his proposed set length is:

    • Too short
      13
    • Just right
      18
    • Too long
      35

bruce is never boring and also and a half hours is his average show so that is good

he isnt like some acts who thinks 2 hours is doing a long set

Here's a little story.....

Once upon a time, an act who I'm pretty sure beats Bruce hands down for UK sales was booked to headline Glasto.

Soon after, lots of posts started appearing on these forums from 'various fans' telling everyone just how fantastic he was, and that not a single person would fail to be impressed. These posts went on and on, and on and on, from these 'many different people'.

My suspicions were aroused for some reason, so I did a bit of investigation. It turned out that nearly every one of those posts supposedly from different people originated from the same computer. A bit more investigation had me track them down to originating at his manager's office. :(

And guess what? Despite that headliner being less bland than Bruce and more UK relevant, people couldn't get away fast enough.

I'm NOT saying that that's what going on here, just that what's going on much reminds me of what happened back then. I do think tho that the confidence of the Springsteen fans here is over-stating things.

But time will tell - I'm quite happy to be proven wrong. I'd like him to be superb, if for no other reason than for Glasto's reputation. :D

By the way, any news on the stage setup anyone? The Pyramid Stage has a big gap between the people and the stage, don’t think Bruce will like that (see avatar), so I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some sort of stage extension.

I very very VERY much doubt it - Glasto has never done a special stage setup for a headliner before (apart from for Archchaos). It's setup the way it is for very good reasons.

At the end of the day, the people that dont like it, wont see hiim. The people that do like it, will love it and the people that are curious will probably go away satisfied. Whilst every review of the performance will garner about 4 or 5 stars.

2 and a half hours is a lovely set length.

Are you comparing Bruce to Rod Stewart???

I'm comparing just the over-hyped ranting of the two.

And the sad fact is that it's very often the case that bands with ranting over-hyping fans don't manage to live up to the that over-hyped ranting.

It's certainly the case that the things being put forwards here by Bruce fans as things that will convince me of his brilliance are having the opposite effect - I'm becoming less convinced that he's that impressive and not more.
