NOFX are easily big enough for mid main stage, my reasoning is I don't see them agreeing to do a day headlined by any of this year's headliners.

Could be wrong though.

EDIT: I remember Sonisphere's organisers said "the music will be more diverse than just Metal, but it won't be indie schmindie". If they're still hacked off about last year, maybe they'll end up playing there instead?

Rancid

Rise Against

Bouncing Souls

The King Blues

Bayside

Lawrence Arms

Four Year Strong

Streetlight Manifesto

Big D and the Kids Table

Sum 41

Billy Talent

The Gaslight Anthem

Hundred Reasons

Finch

Set Your Goals

Relient K

Sonic Boom Six

Random Hand

There's my two cents. Bit of guessing and wishful thinking with some of them. Also didn't have a clue at headliner of second day so randomly put Sum 41,

I imagine Frank Turner will be on radio 1 this year

not going this year but if i was these would be the bands id like to see in the lockup, in no particular order

Frank Turner,

Sonic Boom Six,

Random Hand,

Grown At Home,

King Blues,

Slackers,

Fandangle,

Whole Wheat Bread,

Red Jumpsuit Apparatus,

Rise Against,

Ballpoint,

Rancid,

NoFx

this is the one thing that worries me about not going Leeds or Reading again, the fact that il be missing so many brilliant punk and ska bands in the lockup

rancid? could be possible as they finish there US tour late july, and theyve got new stuff.

random hand definalty there doing the rebelion festival aswell, as are king blues and sonic boom six.I really hope king blues dont get a main stage slot so much better with a smaller crowd.

leftover crack are also a possiblity as there playing rebellion and i doubt they would come over to the uk for one show, they may a tour though.

flogging molly are also at rebellion so they may play again at leeds.

and hopefully NOFX and sum 41 that would be amazing!

finaly does anybody think the lock up will be made bigger like that radio 1/nme stage cause that was a load of bollocks

The only thing that would make up for the indie-fication of the Reading festival would be for Rancid to be offered the double slot Friday (half way up main stage, then headline Lockup) followed by NOFX headlining the Lockup Saturday.

Frankly, if the main stage goes the way it's rumoured then the Lockup will have to be frackin' stellar to stop me selling my ticket.

NIN set for Lock Up Stage!!!

Nine Inch Nails Likely For Leeds Festival 2009

Nine Inch Nails look likely for Leeds Festival 2009, after Virtual Festivals reported that the band are ‘close to signing an agreement.’

This came in the midst of rumours that this year there will be no heavy rock or metal acts headlining the main stage.

Therefore we predict that they will most probably appear a little lower down the roster, or headline one of the tents. Most likely the Lock Up.

Remember, if you have any news or information about the line-up then speak up in the comments section of any post. We pretty much scan them all!

Stranger things have happened I suppose. I came across someone on the way back last year who thought Bring Me The Horizon did well. In the same way 50 Cent and Daphne and Celeste have done well in the past, I assume.

Iron Maiden to play the lockup.

If enough people say it, rumour sites will start agreeing with us, which means it'll definately happen :)

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
