Can I assume all three are done by New Found Glory? Didn't read the whole thread lol. Did you see NFG this year? Linup for that gig was awesome. And I disagree that NFG are the King of Covers. Reel Big Fish have that covered

Dave Mellilo's cover of It Ain't Me Babe is one of my favorites, along with Nightswimming by Dashboard Confessional.

I haven't got youtube access at work, so it's a bit odd to see posts that look like this :

This is Good

But this isn't

A bit annoying see. Maybe just a bit of a title would help.

In other news, Janis Joplin's version of Me and Bobby McGee is different from the original. Bobby changed sex ....

apologies sifi...a new feature of youtube embedding seems to be that it shows the title and star rating, so didn't think I'd need to,

I really like A Perfect Circle's version of John Lennons "Imagine" simply because it has a symbiotic, co-operative relationship with the original, which is rare.

Compared to Lennons hopeful sounding original, this version sounds gloomy, frustrated, defeated, trodden on, pissed off and thoroughly dissapointed; but it doesn't seem to try to be any better than the original, it's just echoing or mirroring its sentiments, as though nothing in the world has changed since the original was released, which is true, really. It's more satirical. Without the original being there as a popular reference it wouldn't be as powerful and the irony of the lyrics would be lost.

Green Day did some ace covers on tour this year but their version of Shout is amazing (especially when live and mixed with King for a Day). And i like a lot of the Live Lounge covers as well - Artic Monkeys doing Love Machine is just so wrong but so funny (i think it's the accents!). New Found Glory put a whole new twist on Kiss Me (and have a cool vid for it as well).
