Ahem. "Ceci n'est pas un drapeau." Come to think of it, that sounds kinda familiar. Has someone done that before? (That's a genuine question if anyone knows the answer.)

Thank you very much. I keep popping back for a bit and then getting busy and disappearing for prolonged periods. Stupid credit crunch hasn't reached my line of work yet! *

* I'm not really complaining. It's better to have too much work than not enough.

Yes please! I'd like to see how you put yours together. Um, I can't think of a different way to say this: you look like you've got quite a rigid pole. What do you use?

I'm going to order a new pole and other assorted flag goodies this week. The addition of Spinal Tap has given me a whole new avenue of inspiration for this year's flag!

Here is my flag. I posted a design for it a few months ago, but I have now made it. I made it with a Scotland Flag and a Republic of Ireland flag.

Despite my plan to con my mum into making it, I did in fact make the whole thing myself. I am very clever.

erm wrong category!

I do have a flag relevant one tho :D

I brought a friend for the first time last year who was an engineer. He wanted to take the flag thing a step further. So he bough a flashing yellow beacon, that would sit perched on top of a 12ft solid flag pole.

The beacon was radio controlled, so whenever he entered the field he was camping in, he would flick the switch on his radio control - and bingo his beacon would flash. Brilliant :)

One of the best bits tho - when chatting to an Irish chap and asking him if he liked our beacon, he replied 'I prefer sausages',

Brilliant.

Will have the Saltire and Haribo flag from last year, plus the new one. If a certain band get announced though then time will somehow need to be found to make yet another one! ;)

;) <--- I've just found this smiley 10 minutes ago, he's ace!
