i dont generally get involved in the rumour game but a fairly reliable friend of mind has told me that cake may be playing this year. He said he got it from a reasonable source as well, so here's hoping.

I would be more than please if this happens. Absolutely fantastic live band.

I was gutted a few years ago when they cancelled

The funniest thing I've seen in my LIFE was at a Cake concert out in Perth, when the band had left the stage before coming back for an encore. The crowd, including a monstrously fat guy around the age of 30, were all chanting "Cake! Cake! Cake!" and so on. Just remembered that and it's brightened up my day. Thanks for that.

I didn't realise they'd pulled out in 2005 and listened to Amublance Ltd's dirge for 10 mins before I realised I wasn't going to hear my theme song Short Skirt Long Jacket. I was not happy.

As for cake in the festival- there's a bakery stand near the lock up tent down from the Kidz Field; there was one in the Markets area that lies kind of between the John Peel Tent and the Dance village area and if you go up into the green fields there's loads of local groups and committees selling homemade cakes and such like to raise money. In 2007 we had a break from the pouring rain in a School tent and ate some fabulous coffee cake and banana cake with steaming hot chocolate.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
