this thread does make me laugh. high temperatures have been forecast for a week now, there's no doubting that. and the rain that's coming looks be be SHOWERS, albiet some thundery, but i don't think they'll last for long if they do come... i think we're on to a great, hot fest, and any mud will IMMEDIATELY be dried out due to the hot temperatures!

who's with me?

there does seem to be a bit more over-reaction than realistic assessment on here.

i am convinced by the hot temps/showers/quick drying mud scenario. seems to be the most level-headed assessment of the info we have at hand.

The weather forecast will change again tomorrow. And Thursday. And Friday. And so on.... so you can really only deal with the weather that's put in front of you. Pack for all eventualities - be stupid not to with the changeable forecasts

What this thread is missing at the moment is anyone who actually knows anything at all about weather. Where have they all gone?

Very cloudy and just starting to rain in Taunton now, weather for Wed and Thu looks ok, but rest of the week looks like we will have some very heavy downpours...Totally pissed off with the weather now. if it looks like it may be a mudbath AGAIN, i may pack up on the friday and as we only live approx 30 mins away go home for the nights, cause i don't think we could hack a mudbath.... :):):)

I have been toying with the idea of spending about £100/£150 (that I can't really afford) on a properly nice waterproof for Glasto. I have already purchased some hardcore wellies.

Now we all know how Glastonbury karma works. If I buy said jacket then we're talking Death Valley, whereas if I pack nothing but flip flops and skimpy nut-huggers it will be Amazon rainforest. There is a pretty clear ratio at work here - spend more/less rain.

Just a quick update based on the latest weather model runs (the 06hz GFS one for the weather nerds among you).... Seems that we may get something of a repeat of last year with the rainy patch this time being shifted to the Friday into Saturday. The good news though is that a) it's going to be very warm all weekend b ) it's presently forecast to clear up from Saturday mid-morning onwards. If all this IS the case then it could potentially get a bit sticky on the Friday evening and Saturday morning, but my feeling is that it will dry out even quicker than it did last year. I shall be taking sunscreen AND wellies, but you know what....

I think we're going to be mostly okay....

this was posted on anoyher forum earlier....... :)

Worthy FM just announced a less than encouraging forecast - rain this afternoon, heavy rain all day friday...

did anyone just hear the weather on Worthy FM. I'd just got up, turned the radio on and the presenter was saying this: "....so please bring wellies. Wednesday will be the best day, with heavy rain for all of Friday and over the weekend. Please bring wellies, waterproof trousers and umbrellas. Sorry if the weather forecast has brought you down but here's a bit of Tom Jones".

Followed by "Hope Tom Jones has cheered you up after the revelation of the weather forecast. Heavy showers are forecast this afternoon followed by Wednesday brightening up, then heavy rain all day Friday".

Sounded very pessimistic, compared to the forecasts we've all been religiously following on here.

given up now, netweather, accuweather, BBC (and the Gardners), metcheck and weatherchannel all have something different so I'm going to hang my hat on pure speculation and feeling.

Wednesday will be hot and muggy, Thursday the same, will have some heavy showers and a fair bit of drizzle on Friday into Saturday and it'll be drying out by Sunday afternoon.

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
