Yes I agree - and realise there will be tons and tons of people still up late into the night but in my ramblings back to my tent around dawn in previous years there arent that many people up. even if it showered at 3am for a bit then it would be dry by the morning with the warm weather I reckon too - hoorah!! its all going to be okay!!

It's not too likely to rain during the night. These hot-weather kind of showers tend to build up in the heat of the day and drop their load during the afternoon and evening, before dissappearing as the sun sets. Large thunderstoms might carry on during the night but fingers crossed we won't be getting any of them!

Every run so far say its going to be lovely on Wednesday and Thursday... I think now we can be sure of that...

Friday to Monday is spin the dice it looks like... 30/30/40 between complete piss down, complete sunshine and mixed showers/sunshine...

Its looking better than 2007.... At best it will be 2008.... has potiential to be 2005.... *new drainage should hold the water this time*

Lets be honest, if getting wet and muddy is that big of a deal your probably better off not even bothering heading down to the site...

Hi People

I'm afraid I'm on the canvas with today's goings on. Not quite finished. But waiting in my corner for the next round to begin. Do I go toe to toe or just surrender? Not sure how much more I can take it.

I miss my sunny Glastos. wont someone please think of the children! Seriously, they don't like it either.

im bringing alot of newbies this year i want it to be as uplifting an experience as it was for me in 05 when i first went

now i brought a newbie along with me to 07 and hes never come back...which is a shame but understandable if ur only memory of glasto is brown

as long as we have a glorious begining and a decent enough end they should come back right?

Would be totally happy with latest BBC forecast. They do appear quite optomistic though compared to others. Really bricking it now, and so difficult to decide how to bias the packing towards one extreme or another. Tbh though, excitement rather diminished by the thought of another possible mudfest - struggling to gain the strength needed to take one on again.

I had a friend came to his first Glasto in 2007. I was a bit gutted because i didnt want him to give up and never come again. However he loved it and came back for 2008, only to complain on the thursday morning that it was a bit dusty!!!!. hes back again this year so I hope the dust gets in his eyes!!!!.. :)

From what i can see its a mixed bag but at least the dryest part is the first few days, then if mud does come your not allready knackered from having to stand all the time so it should be more do able!

See you all tomorrow morning at 8!!!

After posting Ive just checked metcheck and I see what your all worryin about!!! Might just put my wellies in incase.. Top tip for anyone who has really good boots like I do, they may be waterproof (hell in 2007 i gaffa taped mine to wader tops and for the full festy they never leaked) BUT!!!!! If the mud comes getting to your laces every night to get them off is a nightmare!!! Slip on off wellies (no matter how uncomfortable) is the way forward...

fingers crossed guys n girls!!

Right it's all diverging now!

BBC show sun til Sunday

http://news.bbc.co.uk/weather/forecast/3076?area=Glastonbury

Netweather show a small amount of rain Saturday and Sunday

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=10day;sess=

Metcheck show a storm Friday afternoon into evening.

I have no idea if we're going to have rain or not, and it seems the forecasters are picking the weather out of a hat.

Well I think it is looking better this morning than yesterday evening. Fingers crossed for the continued improvement.

Edit: This is just crazy I'm not even up and checking the weather reports. It must be Glasto tomorrow

Edit again!: Just had a look at some other reports, not sure it's much better. Pack the galoches people.

    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
