To be fair I don't think theres ever been anyone with a different opinion on here about the weather before, a bit of a shock! But to someone who hasn't been before, your opinion compared to someones who has been to festivals in both rain and shine isn't going to be worth as much. And the reason is because you havn't experienced both, and untill you do you won't understand why people get so uptight when people wish it would rain at Glastonbury. It simply isn't as much fun.

Fair enough, I've experenced a wet Reading before though and honestly, it's nothing like a wet Glastonbury. I'm not trying to convince you you wouldn't enjoy it anyway, 2007 was my first and I came back for more so obviously didn't think it was too bad! Just adds so much more to the atmosphere and ease when the ground is dry

Its nice to be able to sit on the grass at the back having a few cold ones in the afternoon, when it rains it takes away a good part of it. Like has been said it don't ruin it but it does take a fun element from a festival. Looking at the weather reports ive seen it seems we've got a lovely wed - fri at least and then the chance of some showers which i can more than live with.

For all those who think rain is great at the festival, can you spare a thought for those of us who are unable to physically get around without help...rain which turns the site into a mudbath makes it hell for me even though it doesnt put me off attending it means i cant actually get around the site at all and as happened in 2007 i have to sit where we camp and listen to the dull boom of music from the stages...so try not to be so smug about enjoying the rain and hoping it does, it really can ruin the weekend for some of us.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
