For all of you checking metcheck, check this instead!:

http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=ensviewer;sess=

The blue line is the metcheck forecast and all the other lines are alternative forecasts. It shows how predicting the weather far in advance is very difficult BUT general trends can be ascertained.

HOT HOT HOT SUN SUN SUN.

Weather forecasting, its a lottery.

Best way to find out what the weather is likely to do tomorrow? Look out the window at what its doing today!

Much further out then that, forget it.

"Earlier on today, apparently, a woman rang the BBC and said she heard there was a hurricane on the way... well, if you're watching, don't worry, there isn't!"

Case closed.

Already said it somewhere else...this lovely weather is setting us up for biblical wettenings next week I just know it! Just too good to be true and that 2nd phase of the M word will most definitly happen...I just know it! Obviously bloody well hope not and hope that from June 30th the country floods but this weather is just too nice not for it to come and bite us on our bottoms and ruin everything. We're British...nothing nice ever happens to us!

Sorry folks...meep.

I'll be honest if that latest Metcheck forecast is correct I'll take that.

I've measured rainfall for 10 years now, and I reckon we had more than 11 mm on thursday night alone in 2008 - and the mud wasn't a big issue.

And I reckon if it is going to rain a bit Thursday night is the best time for it, most people already in the Car Parks and set up, no massive concentrations of people around the stages, with a chance of the ground firming up for the rest of the weekend.

My works Flood warning forecast, based on the MO data seems to indicate a dry spell - up to Thursday, with a moderate degree of confidence, and that needs to be a bit pessimistic.

But:-

PLEASE DON'T RAIN MUCH!!!

I don't care what the weather is like today as long as this time next week a heatwave is about to begin!

This is going to be the way it is all weekend. If I am wrong you have permission to hunt me down after the festival. Kill me. Cut me up into lots of little bits, and then post it off to ITV2 customer services.

    • Plenty of good stuff this month. Very difficult choice, but I'm going with some of those I've listened to most (the sunny weather may also have been influential)...   1. The Coral - 388 2. Kurt Vile - Philadelphia's Been Good to Me 3. The Lemon Twigs - Look For Your Mind!   Others I've been enjoying... Laurie Anderson's live album, Broken Social Scene, Pigeon, The Black Keys, etc
    • Yesterday was was Primavera is all about and a reminder of why I come back every year. I saw 9 acts, very diverse in terms of genre and vibe, and most of them were great.  Highlights:   The Cure - have wanted to see them for years. Finally caught them and it was immaculate. Robert Smith's vocals at his age are incredible. The band sounded exactly like the albums which is impressive. 2.5 hours with basically no filler somehow.  Viagra Boys - what a front man! So much energy. Non stop moshing. Sound was great, vibe was top notch. Again 10/10 for me.  Rilo Kiley - basically what pipan said. Not a huge crowd but nice vibe, good sound. Different from the other acts I saw.   I also enjoyed the late night electronic stuff with Aurora Halal and KI/KI being fun. Caught some of Skrillex before Aurora Halal and it was cool in it's own way but not really my thing so we left.
