Almost bought a pac a mac today in topshop......but then i thought nah, its not gonna rain. Funnily enough i came home and logged into efestivals and the main page says that the bbc forcasts hot and dry weather!!!! Hooorah!

However........

According to metcheck, from the18th to the 27th june, the third and final wave of the 'European Summer Monsoon' brings more wet and windy weather to the UK with further heavy showers. They are 77% confident too. Bloody metcheck

What do i need to buy?! I need to buy clothes in advance because i will need all my money nearer the time for spends while im there. AAArrrrgggghh, do i need a cagoul or would a plastic poncho do....or a bloody wet suit?

I cant handle the suspense and not knowing!!!

Steve Murr (from Netweather) not likely to start posting on here until late May or early June I think. I've sent a message to him over on Netweather today (I'm a member), politely requesting whether/when he'll be instituting his Glastonbury 2009 forecast sequences, and I'll report back

Does anyone else always get the same 'it always rains at Glastonbury' response when you say you're going to the festival? I never hear people say 'nice one' or 'great, who's on?' just 'it's always raining and dead muddy there'. It really hacks me off.

Steve Murr (from Netweather) not likely to start posting on here until late May or early June I think. But he normally just posts informed discussion points.

But the other guy from Netweather (JACKONE) who constructs the proper, scientific, weekly-updated synoptic forecasts on Netweather for Glastonbury Festival specifically (warning : they contain plenty of technical stuff!) will also be getting going soon. Mid May or so I think.

Because of my job (Air Traffic Control), I'm constantly checking weather forecasts-aviation weather forecasts are issued every 6 hours and they can change their mind almost completely in that time. What cracks me up is that when indicating a possible Temporary change in the weather they will only give one of two probabilities-PROB30 or PROB40, i.e. the most confidently they will state what will happen is a 40% probability. I also did 12 hours of meteorology at ATC college and it's so inexact it's more of an art than a science

All of this leads me to conclude that it's pointless trying to guess this far in advance.....

UNLESS....

the prediction is for a sunny Glastonbury-That counts!!!!!

Looking good at this stage.... a long way to go and as WOW has mentioned i would'nt expect Steve Murr to get involved until at least 10 days before

Azores high ridging in, forming a breakaway cell over us for the start of summer in imparticular, although July might be more wetter at this stage (who cares about July! ). Looks like a taster of things to come into next week. I did'nt go last year but am still waking up in a cold sweat from the 2007 monsoon, so a nice dry one is more than welcome!
