ok guys, so just tying together alot of the threads floating around at the moment.....

Neil is pretty much on the nose alot with headliners, and with KOL not looking too good now, Green Day going, AC/DC not looking good, Radiohead close but no cigar, and with only arctic monkeys seemingly now the only ones nailed, what the hell are we going to get?!!!!

I've gone to reading every year since 2000, and this year i'm really worried it's going to be difficult to go!! alot of mates this year are seriosuly saying that without a good lineup, we may have to break the cycle!!

I had already braced myself for the disaster that was KOL, Arctic Monkeys and Green Day so anything different can't really get much worse for me, albeit I doubt it'll get any better.

I think i'll be seeing bands lower down the line up this year...hopefully.

Sounds like Download is gonna have all the bands I care about though, and I'll actually be able to go for once lol.

I am quite scared yes that the bands won't be of the same magnitude. Then again, I don't really care. Bands I like aren't normally of a very big magnitude. Last year I didn't see any of the headliners because I was excited, just for the experience, and I only watched a bit of them.

I'm hoping this lack of optimism will surprise everyone when they get someone amazing and unexpected. Maybe someone I like a lot this time aswell!

Then again, maybe this will leave space for a lot more bands I like and not the fashionable crap that clogged up a lot of the line up last year.

Also, could just make getting tickets that lil bit easier.

im worried about the festivals in general this year, looks like the current economical climate has made it harder to get a quality line up, T in the Park for instance have katy perry headlining the the second stage??? and snow patrol to close the festival?

I'm more concerned but no way worried. In 2007 no one would have guessed Red Hot Chili Peppers until it was announced in mid february and No one was sure Razorlight would headline till March. There really isn't a need for a panic.

I won't be worrying who's headlining really, of course it would be great to have an act I love (Daft Punk perhaps  ) but if I don't like the headliner there are plenty of other bands playing on other stages and lots of other things to do.

When's the first official announcement expected anyway?

Why would i worry, last year i had to miss out on Babyshambles and Dan Le sac vs scroobius pip, who i both wanted to see. Theres more than 3 bands and theres more than 1 stage.

i saw daft punk at wireless, wasnt particularly looking forward to it but it ended up being the best thing i've ever seen live, completely blew me away and i'd travel anywhere to see them again

something about dancing in a field with 10000 people with great music and that light show was totally unique to anything i've experienced before and i'll doubt it'll ever be topped by anything in the future

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
