i'll tell you what will be a nice surprise for oasis.

seeing thousands of people having fun while kasabian are on and then seeing half of them leave as LSF finishes.

honestly, Why, in the name of all thats holy, would one of the worst live bands in the history of the world, choose Kasabian to support them. it's difficult for a good band to follow them, let alone oasis!!

There's a gap in the Oasis dates where glasto could fit. I think with their massive ego's they might only have agreed to play if they were billed as a headliner. If I remember rightly didn't they only do creamfields last year as nobody else would give them a headline slot?

I'm not taking a dig at Kasabian by the way, saw them at sommerset house a couple of years ago and they blew me away.

I have a couple of issues with it being them though, first eavis is talking like it's someone massive and secondly with Kasabians history, I think they would have blabbed that they were playing already if it was them.

well now thats just being silly.

maybe its because they know their so skocking live that for the price of the ticket they have to get somebody who can actually perform live.

I was absolutely gutted when I found out that the Prodigy and Kasabian were playing on the same bill the week before Glasto at Slane! Slane is a class venue, huge big natural ampitheatre about an hour down the road from me and they are my two favourite live acts, having seen the prodigy 6 times and Kasabian 4 previously! I was really hoping they would be doing my first Glasto, unfortunately it doesn't look like it.

Not the end of the world though, i'm sure there'll be something to keep me amused at Glasto!

Sege Pizzorno and Tom Meighan have both said that Kasabian will not be playing any festivals in 2009 and instead concentrate on touring and playing a much larger tour than they have ever previously done.

serge said the reason for them choosing not to make any festival appearances is down to the fact they have done so many in the past 2 or 3 years they do not want people to become tired of them always seemingly being at festivals and seeing as in previous years festival appearances they have played penultimate slots on the main stages headlining seems the next logical progression and they just aren't ready for that yet.

the fact they have not released any new material since 2007 and the new album will not have been out long enough if at all by the time the festivals come round this year meaning they will not get offered headline slots as they have not been in the public eye for a while.

but he says they will come back in 2010 bigger and better than ever off the back of their best album so far and hope to headline as many festivals as possible.

Tom Meighan on the other hand gives his own reason, he just doesn't like the sleeping arrangements and toilets at festivals and prefers regular touring and wants a break from it all ;)

so according to them we will unfourtunately not see any kasabian at any festivals this year at all.

i can't find a link to the article i read that was quite in depth and in which they spoke more in depth about it all but this old NME article touches on it.

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
