Oh it’s a shame some of the group are thinking about camping somewhere else. My first priority is not so much the location, but the atmosphere created by the people you camp with. After last Glasto, I can’t hope for a better bunch of people and a finer atmosphere.

I suppose some other camping fields do allow for better access to some stages such as the pyramid, but is that a consideration to be bothered about. Wherever oen site is compared to another, it’s either nearer or further to a number of stages. We’re there for the whole weekend, walking distance to some specific venue will always vary regardless.

With all the above said, I could not believe how well the site was located.

Easily accessed from the Railway east, mid and west.

It’s on a flat area, slightly above a surrounding dip, so it will never flood.

It’s toward the back of - and in the middle of - three sides/tracks, so you never got a steady stream of people, tripping over your tent on route to their tents. It’s easier for them to stick to the path and cut in later.

Toilets are far enough away smell wise yet close enough for a ‘can’t hold it any longer’ dash.

There are two food tens near by open 24 hours.

Well, wherever, come the fantastic weekend of Glasto, I’ll camp with the happy masses of the Great Triangle of Redness.

It's funny, but this year (as in last June) was the first time I ended up going to Glasto by myself in about 16 years. That was the main reason I camped in the triangle. Next year there are around 7 of us coming - three in the caravan fields- three camping.

I've told them I'm definitely camping with you lot and they’re welcome to join me if they want. One of the best things about camping with such a big mass of people is ironically, you can just do you're own thing whenever you please, without worrying about leaving someone stranded, especially if it’s there first time. I've found when you're in a small group of friends, you end trying to arrange to meet up all the time and more than once I've missed things I want to do while hob knobbing it halfway across the site to meet up.

Indeed. We have a couple from 2007 coming again in 2009, non-efesters, and I would have thought we'll do what, for instance, MikeyB37 did this year - ie camp about 3 tents away from the centre of the triangle next year, to mix and match privacy and community.

Maybe it should be left until the moment that the gates open and then everyone receives a text message with the location illegal rave style

Either that or everyone gets e-mailed an orienteering sheet at the beginning of Glasto week and has to earn their passage to the location

Or Pennards?

    • Currently obsessed with Slayyyter, but not sure either she would be a headliner ? Although in august 2024 Chappel Roan was at the same point : a breakout set at Coachella, a first appearance on a late night talk show in june, an incredible crowd at lollapalooza, numbers going up along the buzz. So who knows ?!
    • Is she any bigger than last time? Still firmly a sub for me. Not sure the interest would be as strong for her headlining.
