Oh it’s a shame some of the group are thinking about camping somewhere else. My first priority is not so much the location, but the atmosphere created by the people you camp with. After last Glasto, I can’t hope for a better bunch of people and a finer atmosphere.

I suppose some other camping fields do allow for better access to some stages such as the pyramid, but is that a consideration to be bothered about. Wherever oen site is compared to another, it’s either nearer or further to a number of stages. We’re there for the whole weekend, walking distance to some specific venue will always vary regardless.

With all the above said, I could not believe how well the site was located.

Easily accessed from the Railway east, mid and west.

It’s on a flat area, slightly above a surrounding dip, so it will never flood.

It’s toward the back of - and in the middle of - three sides/tracks, so you never got a steady stream of people, tripping over your tent on route to their tents. It’s easier for them to stick to the path and cut in later.

Toilets are far enough away smell wise yet close enough for a ‘can’t hold it any longer’ dash.

There are two food tens near by open 24 hours.

Well, wherever, come the fantastic weekend of Glasto, I’ll camp with the happy masses of the Great Triangle of Redness.

Only gazebo I remember was located about 30 steps from triangle centre if heading towards the Park. Was that you?

Although the only downside for me is the sound of those f**king metal doors banging all the time!! FFS, do people not realise the toilet doors slam shut at the long drops.!!!!

you can tell the time of day by listening to how busy the long drops are. they are a glastonbury clock!

not sure I can make it this year. first time in 10 years I have guaranteed tickets and I might be away in June argghhhh

Also remember one of my omg im at glastonbury moments was the wee hours on sunday and coming across some people playing the longdrop doors near the Park - was quite a danceable beat too

Methinks some stickers so one inside every door would not go amiss. Failing that, ear plugs!!

I can't be the only one that hears the metal doors slamming shut from the long drops next to .

But you do get used to it after a while and filter out/ignore the noise, so TBH on second thoughts not a major prob.

A minor thing when you consider the totally ace location of the '' and all the fun around the camp fire late at night / early morning.

Havent been on the glasto board for a bit...trying to avoid glasto discusssions until the new year otherwise I will think about nowt else.

anyway I had to read this whole thread as I wasnt sure if Id already posted or not.

As per last year Im the only person I know that is going to glasto next year (other than the folk on here of course!), so I will be at for sure again.

was such a good laugh last year meeting everyone, and hopefully the same people will be there again, as echoing other comments others have made, what made last year so good for me was the people I met at CT and the riflemans on the tuesday. And it looks like there will be a fair few newbies as well which is cool as well.

For me, Im not really fussed on where is, whichever field you are in you have a decent walk to wherever you want to go. If I want to go to the pyramid then I liked walking past the other stage and having a listen to what was there on the way past etc.

Sticking with pennards is probably the best plan though as everyone knows where it is etc, but if the decision was to move it elsewhere, then I'd just go with the flow.

My main aim next year is to not get too knackered dancing to bands during the day so I have energy left to go to shangri-la and the other late night spots at least one night.

I'm a Glasto virgin, but not a festival virgin, flying in from the US and though I'm brand new around these parts I do plan on sticking around until the fest so you will have plenty of time to get to know me (good or bad). So, I'm thinking of potentially joining you at the camp. It'll just be my younger sister and I, and since we are slightly out of our elements being away from our native land (though not technically, we are ancestrally English) it might be nice to have some veterans around.
