VCK
But none of KOL, AM or Radiohead suit the Friday/Sunday headline slot. Not that I'm denying any of them would headline on their own which they will if any of them played.

VCK
Always remember, stereophonics have played that slot. And i think radiohead would be fine there. Smashing Pumpkins arent heavier than radiohead.

VCK
Ben, I know the Pumpkins are hardly death metal but have Radiohead made any songs heavier than Tales Of A Scorched Earth?
Sparticus
it doesn't matter if they're heavy, radiohead live is stunning and has left me in awe every time. Also, you don't get many bands of their size still pushing themselves in new directions and trying their hardest to beat everything they've already done (Matter of opinion, but in rainbows was just a fantastic record, and sounds even better live, watch the scotch mist performance youtube, catches the mood perfectly). Mike Patton
I have found Radiohead boring since 'OK Computer'...which seemed to be the turning point for them. I think they've disappeared up their own arses since then. 'The Bends' is good and 'Pablo Honey' is alright...the only two albums of theirs I ever listen to. howlin_pete
Sounds like the sunday headliner could be pretty much anyone. Is it fair to say that they havn't even been booked yet?

eFestivals
Sounds like the sunday headliner could be pretty much anyone. Is it fair to say that they havn't even been booked yet? if the plan for Green Day has fallen thru in the last week or so (which is what the info I have indicates), then I guess they'd have to start from scratch finding someone else. I'm sure it won't be any huge difficulty, but I guess it'll take them a week or so to get to the point where they're pretty sure their new choice is going to definitely sign-up. Mike Patton
I dont know radioheads backcatalogue well enough, but i have listened to SP and find them somewhat underwhelming. Radiohead back in the day though, from videos, are heavy and both bands formed from grunge initially.

eFestivals
Radiohead have never been in the frame and Melvin said to me at Reading last year that he didn't intend to even tentatively enquire about them, but a lot could've happened since then. I've not been told anything though, but then I don't get it until it's been passed along... Word I've have from many different directions defo seems to indicate that they were very strongly in the frame for this year at one point, tho they perhaps aren't any more - I've not been able to get new info. eFestivals
I'm waiting for confirmation on the three bands, but I've been told that all three are 100% booked. hang on, you've changed your tune. Above you said "all but signed" - which isn't "100% booked". So which is it?

Mike Patton
I've heard that Mike Patton will be there "in some capacity" after Melvin spoke to him in February.
