I don't agree with VIP bars at festivals. Everyone who has bought a ticket should be entitled to the same facilities. The only good thing about a VIP bar is that it's a cash bar. I hate token systems

From the website

2009 Bar prices & Cashback info

2009 heralds the introduction of Bar Tokens! Bar Tokens will only be available from the token booths located to the left of the Greenman Inn.

For a number of years the festival have tried to find a reliable way of being able to offering a cashback service to festival goers and this year we decided to go for it but doubled with that we can now also accept debit and credit cards as a way of paying for drinks. Card transactions are just not practical in the bars themselves and as such we have introduced the Bar Tokens and Cashback booth to combine both. Its the first year of doing it and we will endeavour to make the service as efficient and effective as we can and as always it will review it following the event. Bar Tokens should also reduce queuing times at the bars as no change needs to be given.

One Token = £1.60

= 1 x Soft Drink

Two Tokens = £3.20

= 1 x Pint Lager / 1 x Pint Beer / 1 x Cider / 1 x Wine / 1 x Alcopop / 1 x Spirit & Mixer / 2 x Soft Drinks

Tokens will replace cash in the following bars:

Greenman Inn

Village Bar (Acoustic Village)

Bass Camp Bar

Both tokens and cash can be used in the VIP (Wickerman House Party) Bar.

The Pimms & Champagne Bar and the Angostura Bitters Rum Bar will only accept cash. Both the Pimms & Champagne Bar and the Angostura Bitters Rum Bar are new to the Wickerman this year and will be nestled in next to the Star Wood looking down across the site to the main stage.

The token booth will be equipped to accept cash and and all major debit and credit cards (subject to a transaction fee).

The token booth is also the venue for getting cashback. If you are out on the site without cash, worry not, just venture to the booth signposted 'Bar Tokens & Cashback' and ask one of the friendly faces for assistance. You can request cashback without the purchase of bar tokens but will also be subject to a transaction fee.

really looking forward to the wickerman. just a few questions!!

Security are they lax in order to smuggle booze in no Gloves and hand up the rectum carry on?

What sort of distance is everything from each other? ie carpark to campsite, main stage to everything else?

Is the craic good? didnt like the fact they put up a notice to say antisocial arseholes not allowed in if they are in pub watch is there a lot of them likes?

What sort of size is the tents for the lesser stages?

Official rules are no drink to be taken into the arena from the campsite, apparently it's been that way for a few years but last year was the 1st time I have ever been asked/searched.

So smuggling is the way forward :O

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
