2009 Rumours

If any of the real heavyweight bands come to Britain this Summer, Reading will probably get them.

Pearl Jam, Rage, Pumpkins, Metallica and NIN have all gone there while Download has generally had lightweight rubbish like MCR, Lostprophets, Offspring etc along with old-timers Kiss and Iron Maiden.2006 was light years ahead of any other lineup Download has had.

Faith No More this year please...

I don't like either Kiss or Iron Maiden, but the latter certainly do still play a good live show for their fans.

I've seen them and could clearly see that their fans loved it. Just not my thing and never will be, however.

Thing is a lot of people do like them hence why they headline big shows.Headliners are never going to be to everyones taste at any festival.Why I am glad there is 3 stages chances are you will like 1 of them.

Sometimes prefer other stages to the main anyway not only for headliners either.

Rumours page updated on here, some awesome updates, Rammstein rumour, Slipknot upgraded to Dtrong rumour, Dream Theatre, Korn, Manowar, Motley Crue etc etc.

I think it's probably worth pointing out that half of the rumours being bandied around were pretty much just thrown out there by Metal Hammer, and which were then denied or disregarded by Copping.

I'm pretty confident that the bands listed on here however are very possible. Notice some of the rumours flyring around are up on here, but not all.

That may give an indication to which oens ahve substance and which ones don't.

yeh, i read this, did'nt livenation dismiss the rumours though? could be a tactic to try and get as much publicity with the other festivals going on sale to and posibility of knebworth.

I think this is definitely the case. Don't get me wrong, Download may well pull out some great acts, but Manowar, ZZTop, Motley Crue, Rammstein, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Heaven and Hell AND Faith No More? Almost all of those bands have NO dates or anything out.

The Prodigy have been confirmed as IOW headliner on the Friday, and of course they're headlining Rockness on Sunday so leaves just Saturday for Download, would they play 3 gigs in 3 days, I can't see them at Download now, especially as they're headlining the other two fests
