Vthom
it's all very well sayin that you don't want "dull chart indie" and that you'd like "some truly interesting headliners" but you do realise that your up near the top of scotland and majority of bands/acts won't want to travel up here. sad, but true! however no matter who turns up at rockness they are going to be brilliant because the rockness festival go-ers welcome them with open arms, as there will always be people that like their music! why else would they be there!! one other thing to remember is that rockness has never been officialised as a dance festival so there will always be indie groups, even if it's not to some people's likings! Come on now, they could never allow just dance music, that would be too much like a rave!! if you don't like indie groups, don't watch them, simple!! And don't me wrong, I'm a dance music lover too!! mrcat1990
yeah i know its a mix its not a dance festival but the indie bands they choose are the worst ones like they picked razorlight and the view when theres alot of interesting bands out there i mean foals would have been good or like i mentioned before flaming lips! babs1983
Newbie here, never been to rockness before and have just got my ticket for 2009!!! I'd like to see underworld but its unlikely seeing as they were there this year, good shout out for massive attack and ian brown. radiohead or muse for a big headliner act. death cab for cutie, editors, pete tong, maybe another big dj/producer eg paul oakenfold??? one that would maybe be frowned upon but perhaps a wee comeback for placebo??? anyways whoever is playing, im sure it will be great!!! Elbear
Got to admit sadly i think that there will be a more 50/50 ratio between dance and indie next year. This year i think they got it spot-on but with the buy over who knows Edited August 17, 2008 by Festie--Follower

Alah
The Prodigy are aways a good shout! Would love to see them at Rockness this year, would be my 5th time seeing them. Also would like to see ; Daft Punk again, that gig was a different level of live entertainment at 07!! Justice Simian Mobile Disco again Fatboy Slim again, but he wont The Chemical Brothers again, their last performance at Rockness was poor and they can obv do A LOT BETTER!! Soulwax/2many Dj's as always! Vitalic Pendulum Hot Chip The Crystal Method DJ Shadow!! Seasick Steve, im not one for non dance music at Rockness but the guys a total LEGEND! Boys Noize again Now that would be a kick ass festival!!
mrcat1990
What you have to realise that just because you dont like the line up doesn't mean it's not good. The fact you suggested Placebo for it loses any music credibility you might of had and tells me you probably should never EVER buy a ticket for the event. babs1983
Yes because a kick ass festival entails seeing all the bands you saw the last year at it....
Alah
its not good in my opinion it may be good to others. Funninly enough im am allowed to like placebo and have any musical credibility who makes you the f**kin musical higher figure who decides if people have taste or not? Just cause i like placebo doesnt mean i listen to bands just like them take a look at my lastfm for example http://www.last.fm/user/mrcat1990 true i dont use it a huge amount as my computer doesnt hold alot of music but can tell that i enjoy some different things. And considering i play several instruments and i am a music student im sure i know at least a wee bit on music okay?
Alah
whats with the catty remarks, if we all liked the same things in life it would be one shit world, yeah some people like placebo and that includes me but i also like most other types of music..........jeesh!!!! live and let live otherwise i think YOU should never buy a ticket cos people like you make these kinda events SHIT!!!! Kowalski
Well you see, some of us haven't just jamp on the Rockness Bandwagon. Some of us have been going since it started, and funnily enough some of us dont want to see the same headline acts we saw there last year. I make events like this shit? And you know that because you've been how many times? Oh yeah.... none. If you chose to like Placebo then that's up to you. I'll live and let live, but you have to go live at any of the other festivals out there because Placebo are not welcome at Rockness.
greg1999
to my list, i'm adding; soulwax (missed them this year, went for a burst, come back, queue was ridiculous) claude vonstroke deadmau5 drop the lime green velvet switch

bassface
Doubt it will ever be 50/50 because 1.its Fatboy's love child, he will have a lot of influence with tonnes of dance related acts so makes good business sense and 2.that would start it on the lines to a small T in the Park which they will never be able to compete with because of its location Anyways I would like to see(although some of them have already played)... Rex the Dog Simian Mobile Disco Boys Noize The Black Ghosts 2manydjs/Soulwax Aphex Twin Kissy Sell Out The Knife Dirty Vegas Does It Offend You, Yeah? Felix Da Housecat Erol Alkan Justice Modeselektor Massive Attack Daft Punk Groove Armada Slam Pendulum Gabriel Anada Digitalism Basement Jaxx Asian Dub Foundation then throw in The Music and Imogen Heap

mrcat1990
i know it was just an example but suggesting dirty electro at bloodstock is quite a far stretch compared to me saying that the line up idea is good but i just havent seen a band that has pulled me into going saying that simian would have been beast! i went to tinthepark this year man it was pretty enjoyable lots of great stuff on at slam tent(richie hawtin f**kin immense) an at relentless stage. I have just heard from people who have been to both festivals rockness is a far better atmosphere ! saying that i will never be happy until there are two festivals in scotland one dedicated to dubstep and one to post rock haha Edited August 26, 2008 by mrcat1990
