Yep. I think it sold out fairly quickly the year before from memory - a few hours - but then in 2008 took a while. Ppl blamed Jay Z headlining but not sure that made sense as ticket day was in October. 2008 was a cracking year though! 2005 (was 6 a fallow year? Or do I mean 2006??) was a few weeks from memory.

She was excellent, caught almost all of her AND almost all of Texas. Top three with Carl Cox so far!

Where abouts is this? Obviously we all have very different paths through the festival but I have found the opposite - never been in a dirty toilet yet which has blown my mind, and always had sanitiser stocked. Wild how different we can experience things isn't it!

In 1999 you walked into HMV and bought a ticket over the counter. It didn't start online sales til the 00s and it didn't start selling out immediately til the middle of the 00s at that??

I was at both 1999 and 2000. I agree - don't think they have any comparison. Got to say I don't think I agree on the crowding. Yes - on the places there are things on its been busy. Went to see London Paranoid expecting half a crowd and it was rammed, on The Levels. But at the same time at least 5 other places were rammed too which is a big improvement on previous years where only one thing was on and suddenly everyone on site cared about seeing The Levellers. I wandered from Campervan East round Pyramid to the Levels, up to West Holts, round Glade up to the Park then home via South East and T&C - was busy but didnt see any crushes.

Block9 crew have their own camping area right by Block 9 - it's dead nice, one of the best bits of backstage camping back there. Normally with a short stay pass, you'll be able to come in to offload anywhere within that area and then you drive your car back out and park up in one of the car parks. You'll come in at Orchard Gate usually?

Fab - what a lovely setup! We'll be in a our space themed campervan so not hard to miss if we're nearby. I had my first "you know what, if we got a cheap caravan for next year we could tow it AND have the van!" conversation last week, so I don't think it's long before we're in the market.

This was my minor panic too. Ours have arrived but no one was in to get them so hopefully tomorrow we can instead panic about losing them!

Is this the same for campervan tickets? Not long now!!

You might get lucky getting one, but just so you know - you have to travel in with the named ticket holder, so you'll need to be in the van with them.

We have our tickets but count me in to help! Fond memories of the year (I think it must have been 2008) where I ended up with friends of friends of friends calling me up to get their tickets and just flinging card details at me. I didn't pay for a spicy cider on Weds and I dont remember much past 2pm!!

Thank you that's super useful. I messed that one up as well because quiet would have suited us perfectly I just didn't pay enough attention before buying! I'm quite relaxed about the journey down AND i'm the driver so they'll have to go at my pace. One of our group has already suggested skipping Gloucester Services to get on site quicker, which might lead to excommunication from the convoy!!!

What time do the campervan gates open on the Tuesday? We are going to travel down nice and early to take our time on the pootle to site, but we would be keen to get as close to gate C as possible. Officially it's midday right?

I don't think that's quite true, certainly not about it being due to being women pop stars. Dua Lipa's trajectory isn't vastly different from successful bands - agent, demos, label then 3 years til the album. The other two had industry parents/a TV career respectively so different routes again. Not many alternative routes to the DL one available to mainstream musicians nowadays
