  1. Aye, the reason for the sudden closure is fair enough, but last update was September 28. Just leaving it to the bands/artists to confirm if stuff is being moved or canceled. That's not really on. You'd think at this point they have an idea if the place will reopen in a couple weeks or if it's going to be a lot longer as it's structural unsafe. And if they don't, at least say that's the case. If TFB on December 9 gets canceled after I've waited 5 and a half years for them to come back to the UK, I'll be gutted. Granted im going to several more dates on the UK tour but first night in Sheffield was ideal and going to be very special for personal reasons.
  2. Not really tramlines related, but does anybody know anything about this O2 Academy shutdown? Saw on twitter the place has apparently been boarded up now, so getting very worried we're looking at a longterm closure, especially as events are being moved/canceled all over the place. The venue are offering zero updates and I've got a few gigs booked there in the months ahead so wondering if there's any chance it'll reopen soon or are we facing a really lengthy closure?
  3. Fair enough. My previous comment was a bit of an overreaction as seems I misunderstood your intentions.
  4. Sure there are plenty of artists you've shelled out money for that others would sheer at. No need to be this closed minded when it comes to subjective music tastes.

    2024 Headliners

I skipped GnR for Lana Del Late and missed Elton for Phoenix (no regrets!), so seems a really drew the short straw seeing catching such a subpar AM!
  6. Paid £158 for two shite seats in Birmingham. First time we've ever opted for seats instead of standing because we just couldn't justify the ticket price. And even then, I hovered over the buy button. Had Guts on non stop the last two weeks which swung it, but agree, gig prices are getting out of hand now.
  7. The believe they mean it's a festival for "new" music, as in generally smaller and up and coming bands.
  8. Not sure it's a flex, just the done thing these days. See Swift's "Eras" Tour for example. Each album cycle is now called an "era" by fans, so bands have adopted it.

Obviously 1975 cannot shift tickets to the degree that Taylor Swift can - nobody does - but the main point, that they they're ready to headline Glastonbury, is still very valid. Plus, I'd very much enjoy seeing them really smash the set out the park after watching AM utterly stink the place out this year. Im still salty about that set months later - proper crap (and im a fan).
  10. Replace Leeds with Sheffield and you have every Facebook comment about tramlines festival. The general public are morons.
  11. December cannot get here soon enough!
  12. How is there a debate if Olivia Rodrigo is MSE or MSW? Foals and Imagine Dragons were MSW this year, like come on. I know about 2 songs but she's so far into the MSE group it's not a debate.
  13. 2024 tour looks to have all but sold out this morning. Surely 1975 are a stadium band at this point? If you can sell out 3 nights at the O2 and Finsbury Park, you're at that level.
  14. Keane just announced a tour celebrating 20 year anniversary of their debut album. No Sheffield date (not surprised, does anybody play Sheffield arena these days?), but is it just me or would they be a perfect Sunday headliner.
  15. Booking blink-182 with their dependable track record of cancelling shows screams The 1975 stepping in for a third year in a row!
  16. No interest in the movie till after next June. By then it'll be streaming as well.
  17. As huge landfill indie listener - and massive wombats fans in general - I'd say the difference is they've not stagnated like other bands have. For example, much as I love Two Door you're basically seeing them for the first album. Whereas with Wombats I'm just as excited for This Car Drives All By Itself as Moving to New York. If You Ever Leave is from their new album and is basically undroppable from their setlist now as it's gone down so well. Not many of their contemporaries can say the same about their new stuff.
  18. Blink with some dark fruits indie underneath - Two Door, Wombats, Vaccines etc - would sell me a day ticket that's for sure. Also, my gut feeling is the 2 main stage will stick around. And the stage changes will instead be a reworked dance/FR tent or something. Hope to be wrong.

And like them or loathe them (and I know plenty of people around these parts fall into the latter camp), they'd be right to view themselves as too big for that slot.
  20. I didn't think that anybody would take "grumbling" as an insult, to be honest 😂
  21. Well, yeah. An artist coming on stage and performing a Wikipedia reading instead of their numerous hit songs would be pretty groundbreaking.
  22. Yeah, I was more selfishly thinking about a solo tour rather than festival appearances!
  23. Nothing screams legit like a hand-written A4 sign taped to a post.
  24. Seeing lots of positive takes on Fender last night. 5 stars in NME and plenty of buzz on Twitter. Just to balance out the grumbling on here.
  25. Hopefully cause Phoebe is going back to her solo stuff for at least a bit. I enjoy Boy Genius but Phoebe's own stuff is another level.
