  1. The dream is dead, The Front Bottoms at O2 Sheffield officially cancelled.
  2. Gerry Cinnamon surely well in with a shout for Tramlines. Would fit the Friday/Saturday night indie headliners that Tramlines loves, and is playing TRNSMT so about next summer.
  3. I feel BBC were only there a few years ago. Pigeon Detectives have the homegrow flavour Both BBC and Pigeon Detectives were on the bill in 2022.
  4. Are Kasabian about next summer? Reckon they'll fit this well.
  5. Just seen that a gig in April at the O2 Academy has been canceled today with the act citing a need for "urgent and substantial" repair work. So situation must be very bleak. I'm just hoping it does re open eventually now and doesn't get knocked down or converted into something else. Get that lots of people here don't seem to think all that much of the venue but as I've said, losing the city's biggest venue is crap all the same.
  6. Harsh on Beacon, but otherwise even as a big Two Door fan hard to disgree.
  7. Ain't been there in years, last time I was there it was still called Plug. Think it was for Big Moon in 2017. But happy to see it get some business and bigger gigs. Do pray O2 is back early in 2024 mind, because if we lose that venue the Sheffield gig scene falls to a new low. And I'm already sick of trekking to Manchester/Leeds/Birmingham so often. Accepted that my December gig isn't happening (well still bitter) but fingers crossed like Jan/Feb it's back up and running.
  8. Sherlock did the same weekend just gone. No clue how it worked out. Guess it's better than a cancelation at the very least.
  9. Singing along to Girlfriend, My Happy Ending, What the Hell, I'm with You etc. I agree she'd be a weak MSW headliner but she's not a two hit wonder. She's got a good few tracks that people know.
  10. Don't mind me I'm just being grumpy that Dayglow is playing at all three festivals after cancelling his whole UK tour this year, promising makeup dates and then being total silent ever since.
  11. Not yet. Bunch of shows in December have moved as well including ones after TFB, so safe to say it's 100% not happening as planned. I had a look and all other venues in the city are already booked on Saturday, December 9th, and considering TFB have sold the O2 out, wouldn't actually be able to fit all the ticketholders anywhere else either (bar arena, which is obviously too big and also booked anyway). As they're US based and only make it over here every few years, I'm pretty confident it'll be a straight cancelation rather than a postponement. And that's f**king gutting!
  12. Such a stupid decision. If people weren't arsed enough to have registered for today, clearly they weren't that fussed about getting tickets in the first place. Also a pain for me personally as I was going to try and get tickets and if that failed go for Green Day in London next week as an alternative. You have to wonder if maybe registration numbers were really down and the festival wants to keep the whole "Glasto tickets are impossible to get" reputation going and a year where they were much easier could dent that (or is that too tin foil hat?)
  13. Vaccines gig in Feb 2024 just moved to Octogan. Promoters must have got news the O2 building is properly screwed. Regardless of what you think of O2 Academy as a venue, the city losing its biggest gig venue (bar the arena) is really crap. And is going to hurt the gig scene in Sheffield massively.
  14. I've got a lot of time for Wolf Alice, but they are in no way a R+L headliner. On either stage.
  15. For those following the O2 Academy saga. Apparently an engineer visited today to check out the RAAC situation. And then The Streets gig set for this Saturday was punted to May earlier this evening. Probably a bad sign for the odds of me seeing TFB in December 🙃
  16. Blink are going to be coming into R+L after a solid 18 months of endless touring. Not the best situation when they have a recently returned member who is infamous for getting burnt out with constant touring and then quitting the band. I'm hoping Tom's new found appreciation for blink isn't just a phase!
  17. New blink album is pretty class. After seeing the greatest hits set again last weekend in Manchester, really hoping next year they go a bit heavy on new material but I expect it'll be sparse.
  18. Aye, the reason for the sudden closure is fair enough, but last update was September 28. Just leaving it to the bands/artists to confirm if stuff is being moved or canceled. That's not really on. You'd think at this point they have an idea if the place will reopen in a couple weeks or if it's going to be a lot longer as it's structural unsafe. And if they don't, at least say that's the case. If TFB on December 9 gets canceled after I've waited 5 and a half years for them to come back to the UK, I'll be gutted. Granted im going to several more dates on the UK tour but first night in Sheffield was ideal and going to be very special for personal reasons.
  19. Not really tramlines related, but does anybody know anything about this O2 Academy shutdown? Saw on twitter the place has apparently been boarded up now, so getting very worried we're looking at a longterm closure, especially as events are being moved/canceled all over the place. The venue are offering zero updates and I've got a few gigs booked there in the months ahead so wondering if there's any chance it'll reopen soon or are we facing a really lengthy closure?
  20. Fair enough. My previous comment was a bit of an overreaction as seems I misunderstood your intentions.
  21. Sure there are plenty of artists you've shelled out money for that others would sheer at. No need to be this closed minded when it comes to subjective music tastes.

    2024 Headliners

I skipped GnR for Lana Del Late and missed Elton for Phoenix (no regrets!), so seems a really drew the short straw seeing catching such a subpar AM!
  23. Paid £158 for two shite seats in Birmingham. First time we've ever opted for seats instead of standing because we just couldn't justify the ticket price. And even then, I hovered over the buy button. Had Guts on non stop the last two weeks which swung it, but agree, gig prices are getting out of hand now.
  24. The believe they mean it's a festival for "new" music, as in generally smaller and up and coming bands.
