  1. A great looking line-up, if I was not going to Madcool I would be interested.
  2. With the NOS Alive poster below having so much cross over with Madcool and the "stroke of luck tease" a while back, do we think it is going to be The Strokes for the missing second day headliner?
  3. Anyone else feeling hard done by getting H.E.R as support to Coldplay? I could be doing her a disservice but had never heard of her before seeing the name on the concert poster. It seems a bit underwhelming compared to getting London Grammar on some of the other dates including a few of the later released Wembley dates. H.E.R prove me wrong and knock it out of the park.
  4. Crazy additions for me QOTSA & FLORENCE. I am one of the weirdo's who actually like festivals to book artists that I actually know well and like and would and do pay to go and see their own shows. I don't particularly want or need a festival to book new exciting atcs as headliners. For my own tastes, I doubt there will be a stronger set of headliners at a festival next year. I am not a huge fan of Imagine Dragons or Pilots but my partner is, so can't ask for much more. A little gutted to see Sam on the Sunday as I like him and my partner is a massive fan but not enough to change our plans (Just asked 🙂). We have tickets to see him in a few weeks and he is going to be easy to see next year anyway. We have tickets for Wembley arena and he is supporting the Killers on a date we have tickets for. Plus my partner will no doubt find other shows by him for us to attend. I do think he looks out of place on that day, so my assumtion is it some what adds more weight to the idea of the "Boss" on Sunday. Sam would beg to be on the same day as Springsteen and would not be happy if his people got him a Madcool booking and had him on another day if they were aware he was on the bill. Maybe Madcool should pay the bookings team a bonus but sack the Comms/PR Team.
  5. Just a bit. The posts did seem to point to Springsteen, so not good if you don't have him or he has not given the go ahead to do promo/tease. If they do have Swedish House Mafia and they are the headliner on an extra day, I wonder if its another day by the same promotors but not under the Madcool banner. There posts suggested it was a day 5 of Madcool but I wonder is it actually going to be a 4 day Madcool followed by a 1 day event. Do SHM use Bose headphones or have a tie up with them and some one could not spell Bose when they made the tease posts?
  6. I did wonder if the Joseph or Josephine was also had another meaning. A few years back I think Springsteen was caught up in a bit of contraversy over cancelling a show over standing up for transgender rights. I can't remember the full details but think it was over who could and could not use which toilets. However, I thought not even Mad Cools PR department could be as crass to make light and joke about something like that.
  7. Sprinsteen's full name is Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen, so the post below does seem to point towards him. "Good morning Joseph or Josephine (Whatever your boss´ name is), Going to be iteresting when they finally stop playing games and start posting useful meaningful information.
  8. My partner is mad about him and he saved me from a hard time after I dragged her to the car crash that was Bob Dylan at BST the other year. She did not like anyone on the lineup other then Sam who opened the main. It was all down hill from there on for her. As he was on the older line-up, I was hoping they might get him back. Him on the Sunday might help me with negotiations to extend our stay.
  9. For me it's all down to damage limitation as per potential movement of artists. Hopefully, I want loose out to much. Hoping the potential admin of refunds changing day tickets etc might put them off moving to many acts. My get out is if they add Sam Fender to the Sunday, then my partner may well decide we need to go for an extra day 🙂
  10. Yeah, your probably right but when you use the word Boss in a post about a potential additional day and you work as part of that PR Team, you should know what the obvious connection will be. If you don't then you should not be in that role or your colleagues should at least point out the obvious tease you are making and close it down before its released. So surely they must know what that suggests in some peoples minds Well at some point we will find out whats going on. My partner is not keen to change our flights for a 3rd time and so who it is makes little difference to me. More concerned they do not shuffle the pack and move artists I like from earlier in the festival to the Sunday to pad it out.
  11. It could also be just another PR cock-up and Boss turn out to be a local Madrid covers band and they are putting on a free day for the community in the way that All Points East do additional community days. However, it has to be Bruce with a post like that just like the previous post makes it obvious it should be The Strokes. These tease posts only work when you actually produce the goods and don't over promise/tease in your posts.
  12. So, I have no idea where it will be and for how many days 🙂 But now I know it might be 5 days, I am already thinking how much will it cost to change my flight home date. Problem is I have already paid twice to change them in the past. The longer I wait the chances are the costs will go up and there is still that nagging doubt in the back of my mind that maybe it might get cancelled again. For a festival that I thought was good value when I initially booked tickets, the non-tickets costs are starting to rack up. Maybe the best thing for me is that they get on and announce the Sunday with a line-up I don't like 🙂
  13. A bit of a pain when you have already booked your flight home on the Sunday. If they do add another day, just hoping they do not shuffle any of the current headliners to that date. Nice idea but yet another logistical issue for those overseas who had rolled over tickets/hotels/flights etc. Rather then play these tease games, I would rather they just announced the venue as I have already pre-paid my accomadation near the old venue.

    Pitchfork Top 200

41 for me that I have either own the CD or vinyl. Mainly helped by the same few bands I like having multiple entries such as Radiohead.
  15. The Bobby Gillespie & Jehny sBeth how has been cancelled. Received the email below this morning. With Primal Scream celebrating Screamadelica next year and this show not been rescheduled, I guess we might not get to see their collaboration done live. To be honest I am not that disapointed as I have ended up with far to many shows in November with new bookings and rescheduled gigs and the refund will come in handy. Hopefully at some point in the future they may play the album live. "We regret to inform you that BOBBY GILLESPIE & JEHNNY BETH at EartH (Theatre), Stoke Newington, London on 10/11/2021 is cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The support artist Art School Girlfriend will continue to perform at Pitchfork Music Festival London, now performing at Oval Space on 13th November alongside Tirzah, Koreless, Good Sad Happy Bad, Lucinda Chau, and many other great acts."
  16. Went to the Rick Astley & Blossoms play The Smiths gig at Kentish Town O2 Forum the other night. Probably the best fun, I have had since things opened up. A little surreal and have avoided reading social media on it as I know there will be an element of Morrisey/Smiths fans who will see it as sacriledge but it was so so much fun. Ricks's voice was top notch and Blossoms played the music brilliantly. They hammed it up with gladiola and rick swinging his microphone. I have not had such a good sing-a-long in years. No support band but the crowd sung to every track played by the DJ which was a stream of banging tunes and the sing-a-long carried on through Ricks set. It was so good even if just a little wrong 😄 I dont think I have ever seen so many happy people in once place before. Plus an encore of How Soon is Now, This Charming Man & There is a Light That Never Goes Out. I know a lot of people have a problem with Morrisey but boy did The Smiths produce some of the best music out there. Love you Mozza but please take note of the above encore and maybe play it sometime? I know it was suppossed to be a one off set of two gigs but that set at a festival next summer would be a killer.
  17. In full agreement, saw many a band there in it's hay day. Good sound and just the right size that you were never that far away from the band.
  18. Done a couple of festivals since things opened up and fair few gigs. Frank Turner & the Sleeping Souls @ Margate Dreamland, only booked it as we had tickets for James and thought we would make a weekend of it down in Margate. James cancelled but Frank was great and also had Beans on Toast as support, a real bonus. Gorrillaz @ O2 This was the free NHS gig and trully amazing amount of quests singers. I am a huge Cure fan and first track up Bob was the guest! It don't get better then that but boy did they try. Culture Club/James Blunt/Van Morrison @Heritage live. A few tickets came my way for 3 of these days. Cultrue Club were a slice of notstalga nothing serious and whats left of Bananarama were fun. I know he is not popular but I thought James Blunt was pretty damn good (Don't tell anyone I said that) Van Mossison was rubbish but The Waterboys supporting made up for that. A honour mention for The Hackney Colliery Band. Can't remember which day they played but were damn fine (Nirvana's) Heart Shaped Box sticks in the mind. Liam Gallagher @ O2 Another free gig for the NHS and I was lucky to get tickets again. Liam was on form (Well as much as he is these days) Plenty of Oasis stuff and best of all supporting by Primal Scream (One of my favs) Plus Black Honey (A new fav). If you dont know them take a chance to see them if they are on lineup of a festival you go to. Sign of the Times Festival Showing my age but a fun 2 day festival with Adam Ant, Happy Mondays, Ash, Peter Hook & the Light, Cast and many more. Biffy Clyro @ Margate Dreamland. A trip down from London on a school night, stayed overnight but stupid early start the next morning to be back in London for work at 8am. How was it? It was Biffy F**** Clyro so it was damn fine. Bombay Bicycle Club @ Camden Assembly Hall. An odd one I enjoyed the gig but it was the first standing gig in a packed sweaty venue. So we left after about an hour of their set. It was so different from all the out door gigs and O2 shows. Still a little unsure about going back to these sort of venues as partnet was shielding during the pandemic. Victorious Festival, Portsmouth. First time and loved. Felt good to be outdoors again to see some bands. Far to many to mention but loved Royal Blood, Blossoms, Black Honey All Points East Foals & Bombay Bicycle Club Got back from Portsmouth and went to this on the Monday. Loved Bombay but Foals sound was not good for me. A bonus for me was Gang of Youths & Holly Humberstone. Lets Rock Exeter, Lots of cheesy stuff. We were on holiday down this way and Adam Ant was headlining and so a no brainer for a relaxing fun day. Eden Sessions Royal Blood/Snow Patrol/IDLES Our holiday had moved on to Cornwall and so booked a few of the sessions. They were all great and our first Eden Sessions. Another vote for Black Honey who supported IDLES. Gerry Cinnamon @ Ally Pally. Maybe not everyones cup of tea but I dont mind a bit of dark fruits. He was great as usual love his mix of social commentary and energy. Circa Waves were support another band I have a soft spot for. Me and my partner have really warmed to the Ally Pally. We stayed towards the back but had plenty of comfortable space. We are still not at the place were we ant to be in acrushed crowd but still want to go out and have fun and listen to music. Nick Cave & Warren Ellis @ Royal Albert Hall - Pure class.
  19. Like Union Chapel & Roundhouse and I know not a popular choice the 02 for bigger artists.

    Nick Cave

    Thats what i thought 🙂

    Nick Cave

Yep, a great night. Not all the songs would be my personal choices but still nop notch and two of my favs at the end. Was anyone here the guy in the Radionhead T-Shirt 😄
  22. Probably not but that's an odd thing for Madcool to post if they don't have them. As it certainly strongly hints they are playing and after the mess of the leaked poster before it seems a very stupid thing for them to do.
  23. Don't know what to say. If they have them, its dumb to hint and and blow it if they don't have permission and P*** them off. If they don't have them its also dumb to hint and P*** ticket holders off when they announce some minor booking. Lets hope they have them in the bag and everything is cleared to play games.
  24. The hints suggest its going to move but have not heard anything definative yet. I am sort of locked in as already paid in advance. Its hard to know where to start with booking accomadation without knowing where the site is going to be.
