  1. Comparing Adele, Katy Perry, Metallica on statistics, sounds like a game of Festival Top Trumps. I play Adele on festival show fee's. As, I write this I am realising that I am showing my age and younger members may not get the reference unless there is some modern updated app version 🙂 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_Trumps
  2. No way are they paying for Adele and if they did the rest of the line-up on that day would be buskers to help cover the costs. If the plan was to get her they would not need to spend any money for others to co-headline. I just don't see it but would love to be wrong.
  3. Thanks, I feel better now 🙂

    Adele

Yeah, I think BST shows are generally good value especially if you like the sub (normally a big artist) and always a strong supporting line up. Always plenty of space at the back for those who want to chill out. Although from the back everything on the main stage is a tiny speck. As pointed out what does cause an issue is those who want to sit on the ground but also want to be towards the front or later in the day mid way when it starts to get busy. They also have a bad habit of sometimes putting a large act on the small stage at the back early evening which leads to dangerously large crowds in that corner of the park. However, not unique in festival organisation to have a big act on a far to small stage or tent.
  5. It's like being a Leper around here. There are worse crimes out there, such as being a Yungblud fan 😄
  6. Mad Cool have some big headliners but Adele is it a whole different level.
  7. Yeah, I know but I like really like them (I know not very fashionable on efestivals). Looking forward to seeing them twice in a week or so. Even if the sets are the same its often a different experience seeing a group in doors at their own show to seeing them at a festival. Only seen them before outdoors, last time at BST. I think their less anthem style songs are better suited to an indoor venue like the O2.
  8. It seems odd to have it over 3 weekends if they are only going to have 7 gigs. We know they have already booked 6 and 2 of them are on Fridays. So, as it stands they have 2 free Sundays & 1 Saturday. So my assumption is that they likely to have at least 9 shows (Fri, Say & Sun x3) otherwise its odd to have Fridays and not make use of the actual weekends.
  9. Oh well, going to have to give Adele a miss as I have KOL on the 1st & GNR on the 2nd and if they add the 3rd, I am off to Madrid for Madcool. It's a shame as BST would be a good place to see her as they usually have a good supporting lineup across a few stages and so beats seeing her in a stadium gig.
  10. Thats sounds plausible and with councils and local authorities desperate for cash, they may well be willing to allow more events in the future.
  11. Probably not that well known but the tickets are often well priced. I would be tempted but have a few UK concerts around the weekend its on. I went a few years ago and saw Sting & Kasabian headlining. Underworld, Nick Cave & Beck are a decent set of names and Prague is a nice place to spend a weekend. https://metronome.cz/en/

    Twickets

I have to admit if the price is the same between a resale on a ticket agent like ticketmaster or twickets fo a sold out show. Then I will always go with the ticket agency. Always seems a safer bet even though I have only had good experiences with twickets.
  13. That's promising, will see them at Madcool but would not mind catching them somewhere else like Victorious.
  14. It will be interesting to see where he ends up playing, my assumption was that he probably not headline anything bigger. However, he is not someone I listen to but knew he was highly thought of.
  15. Is he really that Big that Boardmasters could not get him? Not really my taste, so find it hard to gage how popular he is.
  16. Lots of teases by Madcool on social media around the word "Boss" and bits and bobs that made it sound like Springsteen. Jospeph or Josephen eor what ever your Boss name is" Plus best of all @Ken19 who has a rep for solid info.
  17. Thanks, I had missed these Steroephonics notifications. Cheers
  18. All seem like a decent shout's to me and like others I have a feeling Royal Blood might headline.
  19. Has anyone worked out what dates BST will run this year? With Pearl Jam & Duran on the weekend of 8th, 9th & 10th July and Elton on 24th June it suugests that it will be over 3 weekends. It's a bit accademic as already it clashes with Madcool for me and other gigs such as GNR, KOL & RHCP. It could be the first time in a few years, I have not made a BST show. Just trying to see if there are any days I could possably make if the dates/artists works for me. I am sure before they have had shows during week days just not sure if this year it might just be 3 weekends. Does any one know if there is a maximum number of shows allowed in the park each year?
  20. I think the below quote sums Muse up nicely and has stuck in my mind. I do like Muse, so not knocking them but they are prog with out the very worst excesses. "Muse are a prog band dressed up like a rock band, minus all the things that present day audiences have come to associate with prog-rock unpleasantness, such as extended synth solos or songs about elves". I stiil think its only a matter of time before we get an album by them about Ents & Hobbits but set in space.

    Twickets

You just have to be quick as everyone else gets the alerts. Well worth checking back on places like ticket master as people put tickets back foor resale. Managed to get tickets for Sam Fendor & London Grammar resales recently when all the twickets alerts never turned in to tickets. It's time consuming checking twickets and back on the ticket sellers but often prodcues the results eventually. More often then not I get twickets tickets by logging in as opposed to waiting the for the alerts. You sometimes luck out.
  22. I was wondering if Pixies where going to put in appeareance at any UK Festivals. They have a support slot for Pearl Jam early July. I wonder how likely are they are to return to the UK late August. I would be happy if they did turn up at Victorious and they would certainy seem like an appropraite Friday headliner. I couuld certainly see Wolf Alice also playing.
  23. Thanks, so not looking good. Thats a shame, i wonder who it could be.
