Not just mates, Charli’s boyfriend is George Daniel! (and I’ve not heard anything unfortunately @NoBuses)
-
They’re not performing so were probably not going to win anyway, other than perhaps Best Rock/Alt which is fan voted.
-
Strangely, 6Music have playlisted 'Sculptures' while Radio 1 have playlisted 'Hello You' this week.
-
UK 2022 end of year album chart: The Car - #17 Special - Not in the Top 100 (and released about 3 months earlier) First week sales: The Car - 119,016 Special - 5,245 Quite a difference there!

Matty announces a lot of projects that never happen tbf. For what it’s worth, I’ve heard that they’re doing Finsbury this summer.
-
Not the bigger arenas though. I don't think Foals have ever played the O2, let alone sell out two nights there.
-
I didn't say they were! But they did have a lot in 2017/18 - 'Walk on Water' was definitely a Hottest Record too.
-
Thirty Seconds to Mars were there in 2018, and they did give the singles from ‘America’ a lot of airplay at the time. and Florence still gets heavily supported by R1 too.
-
That’s not true. Both ‘Mirrorball’ and ‘Body Paint’ made the A-list, with the latter there for around 8 weeks. http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=258663&hl=Playlist And on the album release week they even playlisted ‘Tracks from The Car’, where they played a variety of the album tracks for a week.
-
AM won’t be there, but songs from their new album did receive a lot of R1 airplay last year.l tbf.

Radio 1's head of music confirms in this article that The 1975 are headlining: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2023/jan/29/are-bands-dead-how-solo-stars-took-over-the-charts
-
Yes, one look at the song’s lyrics and it’s certainly an anti-Trump, Kanye etc song. He shouldn’t have done it, however, but it’s clear the intention is to call Kanye a Nazi.
-
I've never been there, but from the iPlayer coverage it always looks like the King Tut's stage is reasonably small. It'll be absolutely rammed there for The Wombats, perhaps even a safety issue?
-
And it's the same slot that Maximo Park were in last year! (I imagine being Scottish gives LF System a bit of a boost up the lineup)
-
Yeah that’s bizarrely low for The Wombats… lower than Cat Burns?
-
It looks like Panic at the Disco won’t be headlining again anytime soon…
-
I’d argue otherwise tbh
-
For what it’s worth, the metal album was Dave Grohl solo as opposed to the Foo Fighters.
-
I can’t see Yungblud headlining in say, 15 years from now, but I really can see The 1975 being a “legacy” headliner by that point.
-
Yeah that I'd certainly agree with. I think it's partially because I didn't really start listening to them until around 2018, and by that point so many bands were trying/had tried to replicate their 2013 sound (LANY, COIN, The Band Camino etc) that it became quite stale to me.
-
It is, although it generally seems to be down to nostalgia than anything. I love them, but I find their debut album to be by far their weakest.
-
I don’t think it’s intended as an EP, as they have an album out soon. These days artists just tag previous singles underneath their new ones to boost the streams up.
-
I feel like if 'Afraid To Feel' was in contention for Best Single, LF System would be nominated for Best Dance Act too (which Eliza is). Just a thought though!
-
No, they’ve done Bournemouth, Brighton and Exeter so far. I get why it’s the O2 that had the guest though, the biggest show on tours often do.
-
I imagine so. She didn’t release anything else last year so there’s not much to judge her on. I suppose there’s touring as well, but it always seems to be artists who release music that get nominated. (And it’s not something that most voters will have seen)
