Not a chance, they're a stadium band. It would have to be a headline slot or secret set for them.

    SZA

    Yeah, I agree there.

    SZA

In fairness with the whole "not being in tune with pop culture thing", pop culture is arguably at its most fragmented than ever. It seems far easier to miss big music hits more than ever these days, particularly with everyone's social media algorithms catering for their interests, and the limitless music options on streaming replacing radio. I quite like SZA's music and 'Good Days' was one of my most played songs a few years ago, but I don't think I've ever heard it in a public setting before or see anyone discuss her much online.

I believe that would be 1992 headliner Youssou N'Dour.

The winner of The Apprentice isn't actually chosen until the final's broadcast date. So if you were "in the know", it would still be a 50/50 shot based on who gets to the final. https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/entertainment/reality-tv/how-is-the-apprentice-final-filmed/ “Two endings are filmed in order to ensure that the winner is not revealed in advance,” reads the official website. “Lord Sugar does not tell the production team and the finalists about the identity of his new business partner until the day before the transmission of the final programme.”"

I quite like SZA's music when I'm in the "mood" for it, but I've always found live videos I've seen to be quite dull. I'd probably give her a miss if I was attending, but I'll give her a chance on the iPlayer. (If is true, of course).
  7. Just 2.6m viewers for this on Saturday night, the lowest ever unsurprisingly.
  8. I can't actually find a source, but her fans have said that she hates Prada apparently, so I don't see that getting a look in. Not surprising really. Black Mascara didn't chart. As I said, she'll be fine if she wheels out all her EDM hits. But if not, filling a 20 song headline set will be tough. Only 5/15 tracks of her debut album have more than 10 million streams on Spotify.
  9. At least in their case it was a commercial breakthrough, which makes sense as it's basically a "Best Breakthrough" award.
  10. and her first charting single... 2016! It hit #3.
  11. 15 years from now, people will wonder why she won so many. It's not like her success is on Adele levels, neither commercially nor critically. But it is quite a weak bunch of nominees in fairness. She shouldn't have been nominated for Best New Artist though, and both Best Pop *and* R&B though.
  12. I think Raye's headlining chances will depend how her next album does, and whether she wants to continue playing her old dance hits which she clearly doesn't like. Because just from her new album, only 'Escapism' was a hit. Worth It and Flip a Switch did alright, but aren't particularly well known.
  13. Definitely not, but I'd rule them out if they don't playlist it in the coming weeks.
  14. It was boosted by physical sales too, without those she'd be at #7.
  15. Weridly, something seems to have changed. Their new song 'Showtime' was supposed to premiere as Radio 1's Hottest Record last night, and billed on their website as such. But the day before it randomly changed to a new song by rapper Potter Payper. It's not been playlisted by them either.
  16. I can't see Boygenius back so soon, next will probably see them release/tour solo projects.

    2025 Headliners

They're taking a break after March this year. I think they'll be back in 2025 though, they've been working on their next album for a while.

I'll be very surprised if Harry Styles doesn't headline sometime before 2030.
  19. It being "Reytons" instead of "The Reytons" on the poster is slightly bugging me!

I'd agree with that. I was just reading this Reddit thread about it, and a lot of people suggest it's down to a lack of personality and online presence. Although the latter certainly isn't a negative in my book.

Dua Lipa strikes me as someone who has a lot of big songs, but not necessarily a big, dedicated fanbase in the same way that Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Harry Styles etc do. I don't think I've ever come across a Dua Lipa "stan" on social media before, whereas I certainly have for those other big pop stars.

I must say, as a “young person” I was surprised how many of my friends use/post on Facebook before going to uni! But it turned out that a lot of societies/clubs organise their stuff on there in FB groups.

Bad Bunny’s new album is nowhere to be seen in the UK midweek chart Top 100. Looks like this project won’t be the one to break him over here…
  24. The Breeders might have the biggest name on her tour poster, but they’re only actually supporting her on two dates of the tour.
  25. Yep, although The 1975 have been doing it since 2018 now. Their “Music For Cars” era includes both Brief Inquiry and Notes.
