  1. People were sleeping under the cars in CarHenge, down the side of the main tents, sitting against the bins. And I agree with the last part 100%. There are temperatures which are better for excessive exercise of walking great distances/dancing in the full (or lack of) sun. There's always a lot of bravado when it comes to sun and heat tolerance. Every single person I met on site said the same things. "It's too hot at times." "There's no shade."
  2. But are you only walking, or dancing as well in the full sun? And dancing at night too? I clocked up in that timeframe about 100km. If all I was doing is ambling about site, then the heat/sun, isn't that bad. But dancing in 26 degrees/full-sun for 5 days straight. No doctor's gonna recommend that.
  3. It all turned out to be a good mix in the end, didn't it? The only really tough point was Thurs afternoon and morning/early afternoon on Saturday. Luckily some of the acts I wanted to see during the hottest spells were in tents Thurs. Still don't believe people when they say they can walk/dance 25k+ steps in 30 odd degrees and do everything how they normally would tho, and then also party all night. Like, Saturday was really tough to move around and it was only 26-27. Even pro athletes wouldn't think that's a good idea.
  4. The Top 3 acts thread is good fun, but it's so tough because I saw so much good stuff this past weekend. So, I created my own ranking, which I admit takes a lot longer to read and write, but if anyone is keen, would love to read your own versions. Note: This is all totally subjective based on so many different factors (state of mind, history with the act, people you were with, crowd position, crowd around you, surprise factor, etc etc). Acts who were: Fantastic/Gave You Chills: the Hives - so much showmanship, great up-tempo songs, great suits, really brought me out of my Friday-morning funk. Showhawk Duo (on Bandstand) - great energy from them and the crowd, sun slowly cooling off, first show all weekend, was amazing. Skindred - fantastic set from a band that should be far more popular than they are. Hot Chip - finally saw these festival favourites and they didn't disappoint. Just a fantastic live band. Guns n Roses - from where I was in the pit, Axl's voice was better than expected, Slash's guitar changes, the big songs, I jumped around like a total loon. Dimension - hadn't expected to see him but his set was brilliant, including playing songs I didn't know were his which had been on my exercise playlists for the last year or so, which added to my excitement. DJ Yoda - an absolute legend, playing hit after hit after hit, all mixed together seamlessly. When he threw in Witness the Fitness I think I nearly took off, prob one of the best 90mins I've ever had at the festival. Joesef - silky smooth voice, great band, great songs, sun going down, was just absolutely wonderful to see. Elton John - don't really need to say anything, do I? CMAT - great songs, she put on a huge show writing all around the stage, got the whole tent grooving to her glam country-pop. She drew in an impressive crowd that early on Woodsies. Nova Twins - how much sound can a two piece make? Great punk rock rap songs too. The Hu - these guys were fun from start to finish. Great hard rock tunes with their distinct throat singing and traditional instruments. Amazing. Really Great, but...: Folamour but I had to watch outside Levels and it was quite early on in the day. Fred Again.. but it was so stop start and during the quiet parts, there were so many chatty pricks and Instagrammers filming EVERY. LITTLE. THING. EVERY. f**kING. SECOND. Sudan Archives - really great, but there was a mic malfunction, then some of the sound came out distorted during the set later on, which is a shame because she gave it everything. It was also ridiculously hot and even tho she kept asking, "Who's f**ked up?", the crowd barely murmured an answer back. Crazy P Soundsystem - really great, but I was so damn tired at the time. Rick Astley - really great fun and he worked the crowd, threw in some covers etc, but realistically 90% of ppl (including myself) were only there for one song, from a 15 year old meme. Par for the Course: Star Feminine Band. Dreadzone. Disappointing: Earl Sweatshirt - just didn't seem to care about being there (maybe it's just his whole laidback persona), but he kept telling people to calm down and complaining about the heat, and he was just going through the motions. So, I left to get ready for GnR.
  5. It was wall to wall bangers, wasn't it? When Witness the Fitness came on (potentially my fave song of all time) I was in dreamland.
  6. Saw the Bandstand one on Thurs. Was buzzing the whole time. Massive crowd, very responsive, great music, great sound, was sensational. Randomly stubbled on them again later on, somewhere near BBC Intro after Hot Chip and I was on the way to Lonely Hearts but the crowd didn't have the same buzz, was much later on, and the speakers were too quiet.
  7. Top 3 is so unfair. I saw so many good acts. But I'll play along nonetheless. 1. Hives. 2. DJ Yoda. 3. Showhawk Duo.
  8. Not Lana Del f**king Rey.
  9. I like the BBC spin saying "Oh we all know the feeling of being late to work"... but come on, it's not like she had to bloody commute from an hour away in the pissing rain or with a late bus. With her moaning about her billing and now this, she comes across as a right diva.
  10. Haha, it seems the cosmos is on our side. Friday was absolutely exceptional 😃
  11. Giving this thread a bump for tomorrow morning. Hope eveygoes smoothly with ppl arriving at PGA.
  12. Bumbu and gin secured. Dates for energy too. Waiting to pick up ticket, then it's sleep time. Good luck everyone still to travel 🤞🏻
  13. Friday for me is totally stacked. And then it gets progressively less so over the weekend, which is good, so I can have a nice long sleep Sunday and a shower, and get myself decent for Reg 😁
  14. Any news on the Brothers flavours this year?
  15. Final bits in the bag. Download Glass Onion and Bullet Train to my phone for plane/airport watching. Found a cuddly dragon to use as a game when I send photos to the kids.
  16. 😆 I think I will bring them, just in case. They're pretty comfy and good for feeling stable even if I'm a bit trollied, lol
  17. Noooo! Friday is my busiest day and I'm planning on breaking my step count for the year, plus all the dancing, I need it to be a bit cooler. Allow me this one, please?
  18. Just saw Jamiroquai is at Victorious. Could be a TBA at Glastonbury? Perhaps that's my wishful thinking. The rest of that line-up isn't really to my taste. EDIT: I've done a deeper dive, there's one or two on there that look good. Amyl and the Sniffers would be great.
  19. Bloomin' marvellous. If those weekend highs held between 24-25, it'd be amazing. Looks like everyone will be enjoying a dust free and low pollen count this morning 😉 I'm 80-20 on leaving my walking boots at home now. Only got a couple of hours to decide tho...
  20. Morning folks. So, who knew? The system works.
  21. Perfect for medicines, Kopparbergs, and severed heads.
